I don't know that it is the heat. We are in TX with temps in the 100's and do not have any problems. I think it has more to do with the direct sunlight than anything. I know a cell phone and other LCD's will do the same thing if in the sunlight. Now I am not sure but if the screen is not in the sunlight but the backside is baking then that might be the issue? I know that things in the direct sun can get pretty darn hot. I think that the a-pillar mount will solve a lot of that.

the back is in direct sunlight and it gets hot, will the post mount help when it is available. If so will there be something to take the 3M glue thing off the dash and will the post mount cost extra to fix this problem.

Thanks

Well first, I am not sure it is a "problem". I think this is a characteristic of an LCD screen. Any LCD screen.

The a-pillar mounts are coming so we have no idea if they have any affect on this. They are extra, ho wmuch extra is unknown at this point.

I am curious to this problem though as we have tested for this very issue before we went into production. We actually put the screen face up on the dash in direct sunlight in 100+ degree weather. This had little to no effect on the display.

I will let you know what comes of it.

Also if you guys would get me your serial #'s that would be helpful. I do not want the beta serial #'s though. Just production unit #'s.

I'll get you my serial # when I get the truck back. If you tested for it in 100 degree heat face up with no problems I would have to think for some reason mine isn't working properly. Mine is mounted on the A-pillar using the custom mount I made and recieves very little sunlight. Strange.

Mine just did this afternoon after a week+ of use. Took about 10 minutes for readable screen to come up, then about another 15 or so get back to normal. Temps here are 74, partly couldy. Its definitley been hotter, and sunnier prior to today, so like Quad, I doubt it has much to do with external heat.

I notice mine is only happening on the left side of the screen. Mostly in the upper left actually. It's weird... it always goes back to normal eventually.
