Question Pulling performance

I pull a 24000 gvwr trailer in hot shot business and would like to know what things I can do to boost MPG and performance with out spending a lot of money ? Is it possible? Thanks

There are many site sponsors that carry the above product, including the site!

I think this is as affordable as it gets for simple plug and play performance.

Thanks qzilla that is a lot cheaper than the $500 units that I have looked at.

What about the air box/filter what things can you do with it?

I have the quad tow box in the mail right now and gauges should be here tomorrow... That said I have removed the silencer ring on the turbo (no performance gained) just noise... And replaced the intermediate tube from the air box to the turbo with a 5 1/2" piece of polished aluminum. Also Drilled a few 3" holes in the bottom of the air box That helped out huge. I don't suck down the filter minder as fast anymore. And I am wondering what you do actually get for mileage I pull about the same all day and I average 9-11 mpg.

We have never really made a big push with our intakes, but you will start to see that happen very soon. We tweaked the old design so they are the easiest intake to install. They literally fall into place and you can have a complete intake installed in less than 10 minutes.

We use a Green Filter and we have never had any issues with them even when they were abused. I have seen AFE's filter test propoganda, but they did not test the Green filter. The Green filter uses woven cotton instead of cotton gauze. Using this process the filters can flow more air without sacrificing filtering capability. Also the woven cotton is much more durable than cotton gauze. Think of woven cotton similar to a shirt and everyone knows about cotton gauze.

The prices are very reasonable on the intakes and once again they are available through a ton of vendors and this site here.

I mostly haul oilfield equipment ( Mud motors, Collars ) that resemble a piece of pipe they weigh between 2800 lbs to 5000 lbs. My loads average about 6000 lbs.
With that load there is no wind resistance and I get about the same as you 9/11 mpg.
I haul brand new trailers for a company from their manufacturing plant to their store. They load a new 40' gooseneck with all types of smaller utility trailers that is usually about 13' tall, with that load ( it is heavy ) and the wind resistance I get about 6 Mpg, mostly because of wind resistance.

You can see from my signature what I have on my truck. I did the intake, exhaust and the Edge Juice within a month of each other and picked up about 3mpg with empty highway driving. I average about 15-16mpg towing my work trailer; mostly suburban type driving never really getting over 50mph or so. My trailer is a cargo style with extra height and goes about 5-6000lbs. The best empty mileage I've gotten has been 20.6mpg running about 70mph!! I'm happy with that.
