which programmer is best for what im looking for?

hey all i have a 2005 with the whistler intake and a 5" magnaflow exhaust and i recently took the muffler off to see how it sounds but may put it back on eventually. i would like a lil more power but nothing crazy im not trying to race or anything like that. just more low end/pulling power and better fuel mileage if possible. also id like to know if when going with a programmer the boost fooler module is helpful. thanks in advance

I have tried a lot of the programmers available and hands down the Smarty Revo is the best one.

Shouldn't need a boost fooler with your mods.

Revo is just a tune that you can load into the smarty sr.

The Smarty Jr. and Sr. are very similar products. The Jr. offers three different settings with the REVO program, and it comes with the Power On Demand (POD) software built in. the POD allows you to adjust your power output for different driving situations (city, highway, towing, etc.).

The Sr. comes with 9 different settings with the REVO, but the settings above 4 (?) necessitate tranmission upgrades to handle the extra power. The POD is an upgrade option on the Sr. and costs extra $.
Either one would work fine for what you've mentioned, it depends more on your long term intended plans/use of the truck. I bought a Sr. when I got my truck in '06 and ended up trading another member for his Jr. He wanted the extra power capabilities, and since I planned to stay mostly stock, I wanted the Jr. so as not to be tempted by the extra power available with only a few clicks of the Smarty keyboard.

Anyway, I've been very happy with the Jr.

ok thanks, well ive got it narrowed down to a smarty just gotta decide on the jr. or full version. when you mentioned transmission upgrades were you referring to the autos or both? is the 6spd clutch pretty strong?

RamMan05. . . .I would never go back to the dodge auto trannies. That said. . . the stock clutch is designed with little margin. If I try hard enough I can slip the clutch on 70 and 100 HP Smarty JR tunes. Lots of guys here run both these settings and do fine, but they are not running around rolling coal every chance they get, nor do I but. Until I find $1k layin around for the southbend I want I leave mine set to the 40HP setting full time.

I have the Predator and is fine for me . PLUS the troubleshooting capabilities and ability to read real time values from sensors is hard to beat . Truck will lay a 3 gear scratch with STOCK clutch and awesome fuel econonmy to boot .No slippage from my stock clutch but I don't pour it on in low revs either . Freight train smokage if you are so inclined sometimes !! Quadzilla boost fooler as well as dual exhaust and CFM intake makes this Cummins a beast as well as more fuel efficient , my Ford buddies hate me !!!

Unless you want more than 100hp over stock the Jr is the best bang for the buck.

I vote Bully dog pmt or edge juice they can both be adjusted on the fly and also give you the added assurance with gauges and defueling features which smarty doesn't. jmhop......02 Good luck with whatever you decide
