I just called Diablo seemed very concernd and intrested gave me the email to the gentlemen that designed the programs for the stack-it kit (hes on vacation right now).

I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 Cummins turbo diesel
I installed the predator and power puck stack-it kit and am haveing some drivability issues.
When the puck is switched to the high setting and the predator is on Extreme the throttle sticks or hangs up around 2000 to 2200 rpm it will do this while driving or if your just sitting in park/neutral
and bring rpm up to 2000 the throttle hangs and almost sounds like the engine is Camming or missing may be the better term. the only way I can get the throttle unstuck is to either switch the puck back to middle/stock position or shut the truck off and restart it. With the puck only installed in the truck on low and the downloader put back to stock truck experinces a low end miss while driving in slower trafic or parking lot style manuevers the throttle doesnt hang/stick but the engine is slower to bring the rpm back to idle. Basicly the higher the power setting in the puck or the predator the more prominent
the problems become. Ive tried the predator by itself and the puck by itself and like I said it gets worse with both and in extreme mode. I downloaded the 8r22 update last night to see if that made a difference and it did not. Back ground on the truck just over 19,000 miles new lift pump installed and fuel filter installed last week because I work for a local Dodge dealer we figured we would try it since it is still under warranty. Only other modification on the truck is a complete 5 inch exhuast and an AFE dry flow synthetic filter I installed the exhuast the week after I purchased the vehicle new I installed the AFE filter at the same time as the Predator and Power puck stack-it kit. Cant think of any other usefull information if I un-installed the predator and the puck the truck performs and acts like stock.

the problem is your POWER PUCK.had the same problem with my brothers truck.tried 2 different pucks and still the same problem.come to find out the puck was for an '04.5 and won't work on the '05 models. need to get in touch with rpm outlet about the problem.they exchanged the puck for the triple play by dr performance and problem was solved.

as for the idleing at 2000-2200 it has happened twice to us.once after a burn-out and once playing in the driveway.both times the truck was either in neutral or put in it before the boost came down.

I purchased a Diablo Sport Predator stack-it kit with diablo sport power puck from you

I just got off the phone with Tech Support at Diablo Sport and they tell me the problems im having is because the stack it kit was not designed for my 2005 it only works up to 2004.5 Cummins powerd dodges and that it is improperly listed on your site. Diablo informed me that there Diablo sport powerpuck will not work on my vehicle and there for the Diablo Sport stack-it kit will not work on my vehicle Because they were designed to work together and they could not approve of trying to stack anything else with there Diablo sport Predator power programmer. So I would like to exchange the units to for a product that will work on my vehicle.

First thank you for the quick reply. I can agree to that it sounds fair. If it will work with the Diablo Sport Predator after all I did buy A Stack-it Kit not a programmer and a puck if they dont work together then im not getting what I paid for.

I do not have the original box and of course it was installed how else would I know It would not work. But it is like new and was installed by a proffesional and Will be removed. Is this going to be acceptable? Keeping in mind if I was not told when I bought it that it would work on my truck I would not have to return it now.
A couple of quick questions:
I can ship the Power Puck with the rest of the required paperwork tommorow. How soon will I recieve the Tripple play?

When I called Diablo to inquire about the situation Tech support says of course the Stack it kit wont work on your truck it only works on vehicle up to 2004.5 and we have already informed RPM Outlet about this once and it is still on there web page to 2005.

Does anyone think Im wrong in asking them to replace both the programmer and the module?

I think that you should be able to return everything and get the one for a 2005 dodge. I called Diablo today and they are out now. I will be ordering one for the 06 now.

 

the programmer works fine by itself on my bro's truck. i know they (rpm outlet)ate the difference in cost by sending my brother the triple play for the power puck since it's on their site for $560 and the puck is only like $300.i bet somebody got a good **** chewing for doing that.

NO you're not wrong,you should be able to get the right stuff for your truck.they sold you something that doesn't work and they should make it right.

Thanks all for listening to my rant I still havent got a straight answer about it beeing installed but I did find the original box and packaging in my garage so im good there. I think I'll burn My RPM OUTLET shirt when i get home.

Yes.. It was the wrong puck RPM outlet said it was the right one when I orderd it. I call Diablosport and gave them the number off of it and the number off of my engine mounted computer and Diablo said it was the wrong one and that they had warned RPM outlet among others not to sell them together that they would have one specifically made for the combo. And due to RPM outlets no return policey even though it was there mistake they wouldnt except any responsibility for it. They offerd to trade it out for a cheaper box that Diablo informed me would not work with the Predator either but that was it.. My sugestion to all is never let the sales companies tell you what will work when I called Diablo they bent over backwards to help me they even let me send the puck I bought from RPM Outlet to Diablo for an exchange now thats freakin customer service.. Hope this helps

Mine shows the right part number on it, but I still get the sticking and the bucking at low speeds.

 

Email Diablo with your part numbers and problem they can flash either the Puck or the Predator to correct the problem

 

My truck does this stock. It hangs at 2200 like its missing and skipping and will not come down to idle until I shut it off and restart it. Also driving it sputters at the same rpm and hangs there and you have to brake it hard to stop the truck. I have also had a huge problem with higher (3000) rpm hanging and you cant hardly stop the truck.
Been in the shop several times and they say that this is normal for the higher rpm but going to take it to the shop in a day or two for the 2200 sticking rpm.
