Red face Probably Dumb: Could I run a SMARTY w/ everything stock?

Could you run it at it's lowest setting and get away w/ it, with all stock? If not what would you need to add before the Smarty?

Yes, you can run stock but I suggest to you get gauges even though the smarty has low egt's for the power is produces it's just better to be safe than sorry.

I'm basically stock & I run my Smarty on either 60hp or 30hp all the time. I'm guilty for not having gauges yet, but I try to drive fairly conservatively.

You may be able to run it on the lowest setting but I lack that kind of self control.

If your planing on staying stock i would look to something else. Unless you plan on increasing your modifications why pay for all those setting if your only going to use one?

If I remember correctly, Marco does all his testing on a bone stock truck. He also rounds down all HP numbers.

Sure you can, but its like a drug, you cant have enough.
And unfortunately, as long as you have money to burn, you do.

Id just get a decent air intake setup, straight pipe it, and the smarty and enjoy it

Smarty again.

You can see my signature. I'm carrying 2000# 24/7 on my back and with Smarty on #3,I'm seeing no egt problems at all. Stock clutch is doing well, and with Lorenz's suspension the truck is compliant but stable. You do really have to be shy with the go pedal in order to not soot out the guy behind you. New updates are coming out all the time to address us urban warriors. Definitely consider gauges for peace of mind.
