Its on the performance tune right now and its all highway driven. I should probably set it to the tow tune for safety.

As long as you don't get crazy you should be ok. But I'd get those gauges asap. I've never run tow so I couldn't tell you what to expect. I have run performance on stock turbo. If you keep your foot in it too long, you will run into dangerous egt's.
Get the gauges and let me know what you're seeing.

This is fun stuff, ain't it...

I had to drive it on stock tune one time because updating the predator locked it out. It was a computer issue. Anyhow, it was a slug on the highway. I have beat on it one time in extreme and regret every second of it. I treat her well and keep my foot out of it unless to pass someone and even then it isnt a race. Im eager to get the gauges on there for peace of mind. It is a ton of fun, but its taking a toll on the old wallet and I havent even really gotten started yet.

FYI-The part I ordered from USDP is for fooling your computer when you install and aftermarket turbo, it does not fool your computer from overboost conditions. If you are looking to buy a boost fooler for a stock turbo, that aint it!

One is a boost fooler for the stock turbo. I guess it allows the electronic wastegate to stay closed longer all the while telling the computer not to throw an overboost code. The part I ordered is used when installing an aftermarket turbo. It plugs into the block side of the wastegate solenoid and fools the computer into thinking the wastegate is installed. This would not allow my wastegate to open and then would throw an overboost code anyhow. I need the part that does both. I dont know the ins and outs but I do know this part is not what I need.

I'm wondering now if this is a problem I'm having right now. I had a Silver64 turbo with their plug to go into the wires from stock turbo. This is the same thing, I assume, that you have now. Well I put my stock turbo back on but didn't plug in the wiring as I left their plug in it... And I notice I haven't gotten over 20psi boost in quite awhile (but I don't floor it that much really)... wondering if not having the stock connector plugged in is causing me to lose boost somehow.

Im not sure at this point. Ive confused myself thinking about it. I dont know what could be causing your problem, try hooking it back up stock and see what happens. Ive heard it explained a couple different ways. I would have to plug it in and see what it does but then I couldnt get any credit for it from the seller. They are working with me to exchange for an actual fooler.

I think I understand... maybe... good luck when you get the fooler and let us know how it works. May have to go that route myself.

i ran a BF w/ my predator on extreme & i must say... i HATED the BF. total waste of time & money with a stock turbo. FYI a stock turbo isnt doing anything but moving hot air after 35 lbs. o boost anyways. If all your after is ALOT of smoke then by george your gonna get it but i didn`t notice a thing .... oh wait i did notice one thing my fuel economy went down the toilet...took the BF off back up it came. Go figure. But maybe my truck just doesnt like BF`s.

I never had any issues with a boost fooler.

Trik396, I think your turbo is now opening the wastegate at around 24psi or so if you don't have the solonoid plugged back in. That turbo is known to do that when installed on an 03-04 truck like mine if you don't do some mods to it. I put a clamp on my wastegate hose to make sure I was getting more that 24psi of boost. I don't have guages yet so I don't know for sure if it's helping but I will know by the end of the weekend......

Called USDP and gave them the scenario. They did some calling around and research and said I have no use for the part I ordered. It's going back!

You are right. I plugged in the stock connection and immediately was able to hit 30psi without really trying (and ran outta road). And I have boost fooling with my VA box so I'm golden.
