predator gurus

for the people who have used it on more than one truck i have a question. im about to get a used predator and was trying to figure out if there is any special step i need to do before i download it on to my truck. i downloaded the manual off their web site and in the back it said something about "live table reset" when switching this tool to another truck, do i need to do this before i try to download a program or is it something thats not really important and can do later? i think it has to do with the diagnostics stuff. also what is this "real time data" thing? one more thing, is there a way to check to make sure that its not vin locked before i hook it up or will it just not let me do anything? sorry about all the questions i have never messed with a downloaded before and dont want to mess anything up. thanks for your help

I believe the guy selling it has to unlock his VIN on the Predator before you can use it. I've seen one instance where someone tried putting it on another vehicle and it was a disaster.......

i read about last tune written, you have to plug it in to get it to power on right? i should just be able to plug it in and go thru the menu and check that. im pretty sure he took it off he said he went back to crazy larry so the predator would havee to be removed from the truck first.
