I think it's all about customer service which doesn't seem to exist w/ 2 of the 3. All 3 are good, one is great! Smarty, JMO though.

I don't know anything about the PPE, but I have had both the Triple Dog and Smarty Jr. and I like the Smarty Jr better. Makes about the same power as the Triple Dog did but runs a bit cooler.

Seriously....why even ask on this site 99% are going to say Smarty

I`ve got a PPE/TST stack and it`s O.K. , I`ve never had either of the other ones to compare against each other....but even I`d say Smarty , just from how much everyone talks about them here. I may try one myself oneday when I feel like blowing some more mula on this truck.

I had a Triple Dog in the past....it worked pretty good, never had any issues with it. Also had pretty good luck with Bully Dog's customer service the few times I needed to call. All in all...a good programmer...if there was no such thing as the Smarty, I'd probably still be running it

But once again....hands down, my truck likes the Smarty better...

smarty made 60 more HP on the dyno on the same truck on the same day with a customer of mines truck. that was before TNTR came out. was beta 4.4. PPE laid down 698hp and loaded smarty and it laid down 760.

things like that is why we have the SAC club! LOL

PPE tuner is bully dog, I caught it when I loaded it onto a truck and we used the code search function, it gave us the codes and said to go to bullydog.com for the explaination. I called at PPE and told me "ya you caught us" now even though the loader is bullydog I dont know if the programs are different but I will tell you that is really similar to the bullydog power pup. They have since fixed the glich i hope. I dont sell the cummins ppe anymore at work but the duramax version is 100% different and performs awsome. just my opinion T

Thumbs up

Since I didnt have many mods on my '06, I really liked the BDTP. It was simple, effective and made good power. I have no complaints.

Now on my '04, it doest work quite as well, so Ill be going with a Smarty.

PPE does have great service, but just to the Dmax crowd. If you goto diesel place, is on there all the time helping guys out, but I think he forgot theres more than one truck manufactor.

Does any one else have any opinions or proff that PPE is Bully Dog for the cummins? I have had the reg. tuner for years, it makes good power, have thought of trying the hot version before to get some added pressure thinking this alone could also add fuel milage? So has anyone ask DAN str8 out this question?? If so what was his answer? I do know the price at least 1 year ago was outradgous to upgrade the reg. tuner to the hot version- something like 300 bucks......... stupid IMO
