I went to Walmart today to Buy Rotella T syn (This stuff is GREAT!!!!) and checked the price of Power Service. Its 6.84 for a 32 ounce bottle. I thought I saw post that people were paying $3 a bottle

I was just checking it out. I am sticking with FPPF and a small mix of Power service. For some reason I got better fuel mileage out of the mix. FPPF by far is the cheapest.

I didn't find the gallon any cheaper than the quarts times 4, so I bought the quart. I need a new bottle now, so I will report back with the true cost in H-town.

I figured there might be a run on PS once the ULSD came out and everyone's trucks started rattlin' like snakes. I was in WallyWorld a couple days ago and they had tons of it. So I picked up 5 gals each of the gray and white plus some MMO in the gals too. I have been trying to get stocked up a little for the future. My garage has so much oil, additives, filters and misc parts I am beginning to look like a warehouse for parts stores.

I wonder if the ULSD is what has been making everyones truck knock/rattle more, especially those with power boxes? Low lubricity would make it sound like/similar to gassers using lower octane fuel instead of high octane, timing rattle.

Since I have been adding the mix right from the beginning of the ULSD I have not had much rattle. I was into my 2nd tankful of ULSD and the rattle was horrible, the mix HAS stopped the noise.

my truck with ULSD has lots of pinging and knocking its horriable. adding PS gray bottle helps but does not cure it. ULSD sucks

A couple years ago I bought 20 gallons of White PS for about 4.00 CDN per gallon.
I am down to my last 2 gallons now.
I'll be using 2 stroke oil when I get back.

What kind of proof does everyone have that the ULSD is causing so many rattle issues with the new fuel? We have a group of 6 2500 and 3500 trucks and not a single one of us has seen any change related to ULSD. Mileage hasnt changed and no additional noise. Maybe we are all just lucky????

I got asked for ID last time I bought PS at Wallyworld...guess if your over 18 you make wise decisions with your diesel additives. I asked the young lady what was going on with the PS and why the ID, and she said they were "cookin meth wid it"

Anyhow, autozone here in SA has it still for about $3 a bottle. I use it every other tank and amsoils additive every other tank. I am gonna try that FPPF or whatever it is in the near future.
