PML Trans pan

I just installed a PML Trans Pan this past weekend. The same high quality as their Diff covers. I ordered the pan from Craig at DPP and just wanted to comment on the quality of service which was outstanding. Ordered on a thursday and received on the following Monday. I wish their were more companies that provided this kind of service. Robert

Does the PML trans pan come with a temp sensor port? Is that additional $? If so, how much? I would like to avoid drill and tap if possible. Thanks.

I had mine tapped before it ever left the Hot Rod Diesel shop at no charge.

04 SO CA,

They have a cast in boss for the plug if you want to drill it. If you're in a bind and don't have the 1/8th NPT tap we could do it for you! They don't drill it as most folks want to get their trans fluid temp from the hotter output line or even the pressure port on the side of the trans. I really reccomend that you get the sender there as it will get you a hotter reading which is what you're after etc.

Thanks for the reply. I have been debating which location to put it in. I did a search and found pros and cons about both installations. I may end up doing both. I like the idea of knowing how hot the fluid is coming out of the tranny. But, also would like to know the temp of fluid that will be going in. Is it possible to install a switch between both sensors in order to read off one gauge? Monitor the hot side, and if temp is high, switch over to pan sensor to ensure cooler fluid is headed into tranny. That seems ideal to me.
Thanks.
