On the other hand, 4 Clydesdales and a rack of beer should improve your diesel mileage, but bales of hay per mile will be purdy low and you will just have 4 HP, albeit high output.

I find the only honest way to get mileage figures is to ask people how many miles they get on a tank of fuel. The guys that get twenty miles per gallon only seem to get 450 to 550 miles on their 34 gallon tank. Unless you are a 2wd 6speed or an auto with some serious timing advance 20+ mpg is hard to get as an average mpg. I laugh at the guys who say they got the auto for the lower rpms at 65mph so they will get better mileage. I've never seen an auto that gets better than a 6speed for the same specs. If you have an overhead and a box. Filler up till you can see the fuel in the spout and drive till you have 0miles to go. This means you have about 3% fuel left. Check your OD. Fuel up till you can see her and divide the miles by those gallons. 680 miles on 34 gallons is 20mpg. I've never gotten over 1000km in the dodge on a full tank or 625miles/ 34gallon =18.4mpg. I run the TST on timing 1 setting virtually all my empty time unless I need the power. Without it my average was 15.9 mpg. With it my average is 16.9 mpg empty overall.ks

Any box that has a timing only setting, such at the tst, will not throw off the overhead when in that mode. Once you start raising rail pressure or lengthening injector pulsewidth, you start fooling the overhead.

In all honesty there can be a small gain. I think you will be hard pressed to ever get much more than 1-2mpg though now that may sound like a ton but that is still going to take a wile to even pay back on the box. even a cheap one like the quad box is not going to make you any money for a year or two. On my juice I think it comes out about the same. it think I could get about 1mpg better but I get about the same becaues I drive with a bit heavier foot now. I am happy with that though because having way better power and even the same milage makes me smile. in the gas engine world that does not happen.

How you drive these trucks is key. My wife alwasy gets worse milage than I do becasue she is always heavy footed out of the hole.

if I wanted peak milage I would proably try the quad 60hp box. one thing to remeber is presure boxes through off the overhead computer so if you like having that get someting that is timing and duration. tst and edge juice come to mine.

I never no quite what to think when the pressure box people post in about how sweet the milage is. Make sure they say they are hand calculting because the overhead is no longer acurate at all. I never know what to think because some will say milage is the same with the ez and then someone else will be like "it gave me 3mpg". I have a hard time buying the 3mpg.

I would get a Quad XZT, but as I have said before I am a little biased.

The Quad and EZ boxes both threw my overhead way off and caused me to lose some fuel mileage, even driving very passively. The Van Aaken C3.2 doesn't mess with my overhead and keeps my mileage the same as stock.

I get a kick out of everyone. It seems to me that if you get the same mpg with added hp as you did stock. Sounds like a big enough plus to me. Sounds like sum of us want our cake and eat it to.
