please help clutch is going out

hey guys,
my clutch started slipping sunday a little in 6th gear with the crazy larry settingso i turned it down to the tow setting. well this morning on the way to work it started slipping in 5th and 6th. i know south bend is the best but my question is does anyone know anyone in the houston area that will do a good job but not take advantage of me. I have never had to deal with a transmission shop before so i dont know whats a good price for labor and whats not. thanks in advance

I would contact Michael at Hotrod Diesels in Hitchcock.

I second Hotroddiesels.

You cant go wrong with SBC, and I think 500 is about right for a clutch swap.

Yep, Haisley would be my second choice and honestly except for the new spung hub clutches form SBC I bet they are tit for tat.

i just got off the phone with a guy from valair two minutes ago. he quoted me $780 for the 450 hp organic/feramic part #70279-02. that price is installed. the install shop i think he said is texas diesel power in weatherford tx. he said that i could go with more aggresive plate but would have to put it into 4lo backing trailers b/c the hop. seemed like a pretty good price, what do yall think?

I have the valair organic/ feramic, and I love it so far. I have got a little over 2000 miles on it now. And John and the guys at Texas Diesel Preformance are good to work with and can get it done fairly quick. They did mine in about 1/2 a day.

I bought a valair organic/feramic from Texas Diesel Power did the install myself but John was great to deal with. I think the clutch alone was about $465 so the extra $300 to install isn't bad mine was a pretty big pita
