LET SEE some pics of 285's on 8 1/2 inch rims...........
took the 295's back today and ordered some 285's.........sorry , I know the majority say that 295's dont make a differance in power, but I can feel the differance in throttle response, esp towing a load. Discount happily took them back and ordered a new set of 285 load range E tires to replace them with. Mounting them up on some of these:

The new wheels look nice.
Not sure why, but you arent really going to notice any difference between 285s/295s, only a fraction of an inch difference in size. Not sure why you noticed it that much, I didnt even notice it THAT much going from 265s to 325s, there is some power loss, but to me the ride quality made up for it, and less rpms on the highway.(no more drone at 2k-2100rpm, dropped down hwy cruising at 70-75 to 1800-1950~)
