OK, just back from my nighttime drive, the PIAA have better side view, farther distance and are brighter but not a lot brighter, the high beams are way better and fill the roadway way better, Would I do it again YES but I am not seeing changes which I have seem in the past,,,,,simply the newr vehicles have better bulbs....
Better fill, look way cooler(blueish) I am happy but not doing hand springs.

Very good description, I agree. I posted earlier that theyare not airplane lights and you still need the 520's to see that Moose on down the road. I woould do it again and will buy the Fog Lamp Bulbs and the 520's soon. Jim

Xtreme.......
One more thing which was strange, I shut the truck down for about 20 minutes and after the restart they seemed to be a little brighter. Strange but maybe true.
I would like to thank everyone here for the help in making me to make up my mind. I had ordered the SS's and cancelled the order for PIAA's....
Thanks

Just a side note....If you are considering a set of Piaa driving or fog lights, the 525's do a very, very good job. They have an in-cab controller that allows you to switch from a fog light pattern to a driving light pattern. They are a little more but they offer alot more. Also they have some LED's which back light the lights when the parking lights are on, look hay cool. Gives a glow that is very different. Just thought you might like the info. Good luck.

525 vs 980
I have a set of 980s I bought used ready to install. What's the difference between them and the 525 series? The 980 series is driving light/Fog combo and is a nice looking set which I look forward to installing once the weather improves.

Gary C,
check the wiring harness on the headlights, they could be heating up causing some resistance in the bulb wires. that could explain why they appear brighter after everything cools down.
