Performance box and fuel system

Just a question, I talked with a good friend of mine today who is a retired engineer for cummins and he still does alot of work on 1st and 2nd gens. he said he gets at least 1 truck a month that the performance box has just shut down the fueling system, i was wondering if anybody here has had a similar experience, especially on 3rd gen.

From what I've been reading they have. Especially with the "big" boxes like the TST. Fuel pressure has gone to zero on the lift pump. Seems like a Holley Blue fuel pump or FASS is the answer. You can probably do a search on fuel pressure and get more info.

People that have fueling box problems usually do not prepare the truck properly for what they are doing to it.
IE turbo, fuel system, accelerated maintenance etc...

There are many good fuel box companies out there TST, Edge, etc.

Your friend is probably not the guy to be talking to on fuel boxes.
He sounds a little out of the know.

I have seen a 04 305/555 with just an Edge EZ drag the fuel pressure down to 0. The truck also only idles at 7lbs. This is monitoring before the injection pump.

Some of the old timers are not up on the electronic stuff.
Sorry to rain on your parade, I mean no disrespect.
