P0602 Code? Hmmm.

I got a P0602 towing a bunch way to fast again the other day...first code I have had in 15k since I have added the Smarty into my mix. Would anyone know why I got this error?

Truck did not do anything funny...performance is GREAT as usual.

Module not Prgrammed? Not very descriptive.

Code

This code means generically there is an internal module program error. Could be the program is corrupt, or not behaving correctly or something resides in memory that is not behaving predictably. Why you are seeing this I don't know. I do know the early Bully Dog programmers would produce this and it was recommended to ignore. I'm sure Marco can answer and help better.

I don't suspect anything serious or you would know it, trust me as I have learned from experience!!! There are some spooky things going on in these ECM's and I just don't think its all that simple, unfortunately.

All I can add at the moment.......

Chris

I believe it's a code that's been present since the Catcher days. It does not affect performance. I just clear it and go.

I get p0602 also from time to time with the Smarty. Usually is accompanied by the p0336 TST code, another just ignore code. To my knowledge it has never affected the truck performance in any way. I just clear them the next chance I get and don't really worry about them.

Just to avoid confusion. The P0602 code shows up with the performance softwares ONLY. With the stock software that code is not set!

Just like said here by others, no engine derate or any other adverse effect with that code.

We're working on getting rid of the P0602 code. I'm unable to tell you when it'll happen, a lot of R&D involved, but we will get rid of it.

A few companies have already come up with a solution for it. When the DTC's are displayed they ignore that code and do not show it...

I would rather know it happened...thanks for the answer.

I was thinking the check engine light was getting lonely...and just like felt like turning on for a couple of starts for the heck of it....lol.

It has allready been cleared by the Smarty...

Over and Out.
