Ordering some XD Diesels - 4" b.s.?s

Planning on ordering some KMC XD Diesel wheels tomorrow to replace my other 22s. Dealer is pushing me towards getting a 22x11 with 4" backspacing. Going to be mounted on my existing tires listed below. My wheels are 9.5 wide with 6.5 backspacing currently and I have plenty of room and no rubbing. You guys think that I will be okay running a 11 inch wheel with 4" backspacing? Dealer said they put this wheel on Rams all the time and have no problems but added that I may want to look into a set of fender flares. Do plan on lifting the truck this summer by the way. Thanks guys

Sales rep called me back and said that they also have the 22x11 available with a 5" b.s. think that will make a difference?

Read this, and see if it makes your question any more cloudy...

http://www.fourwheeler.com/techartic...tte/index.html

With that being said...

IIRC, our stock wheels have 6.25"s of b.s.

My aftermarket Helo's have 4.25"s of b.s.

With 315's on the stockers, the tires would rub the control arms ever so slightly at full turn of the steering wheel.

With the same 315's on the Helo's, there was no rubbing on the control arms, however, they stick out quite a bit from the wheel well...

HTH!

Looked at the specs from KMC and they show the 22x11 with 5.02 backspacing and -25mm (1inch) offset. I love the look of the Diesel wheels, but if they won't fit I will order some 22x9.5 Rockstars. I will see if the dealer will return them if they don't fit. If so then I will pull the trigger on them beasts. I will probably add a 4.5 to 6 inch lift later next year.

KMC and the local rim place are saying that they will fit, so the Diesels will ship out from Florida on Monday. Running an 11 inch wide wheel sounds crazy but I like the look of a wheel sticking out. Hope it makes it look aggressive. Sounds like I will need some fender flares though.

The few megas that I have seen with them in magazines and online look wicked if you ask me. Seems like that is the only option for the 22x11 so backspacing wise I hope that doesn't give me problems when looking for lifts this summer. I think it will look cool though. The Toyos I currently have will hopefully wear out fast and I will be forced to upgrade to an agressive tire. Still have doubts if they will fit without leveling kit, but KMC and tire place are telling me differently. If they don't fit I will do the Monster!

You got that right!

ontheedge, do you have laws about your tires and wheels sticking out past the fenders where you live?

You are going to have a hard time finding flares to cover that kind of wheel and tire combo, is why I'm asking...

nope no laws about how much a tire can stick out. i figure that i will add something like the pocket flares if these 11inch wide beasts fit. we mocked one up using the 22s that i have now and there should be alot of meat outside the fenders.

Well the wheels came in yesterday and they did rub the front fender. They clear the bumper fine. The tire place said that they will fit a truck with a leveling kit so I picked up my buds mega cab that is running a leveling kit and 35s. Going to check and see if that will work out and if it clears those then cool. Tire place is standing behind the wheels and said that they will send them back even though they jumped the gun and mounted all of the tires before test fitting them. Love the wheels might have to order a lift sooner than I thought. Will post pics to my user gallery. If someone can copy them to the link I would appreciate it or let me know how to do it. Thanks
