Question Which one??? Smarty Sr. vs Smarty Jr.

There is so much information on Smarty Jr and Smarty Sr, but I’m still not sure which is best for me. However, I’ve made up my mind to get a Smarty either way.

I have a SuperB turbo and a Banks 4” muffler. Other than that, my truck is completely stock. I’m looking for more low end power and better spool-up when driving empty. Right now my truck can’t get out of it’s own way from a standstill unless the RPM is up kind of high. I had a pressure box awhile back and that really helped with low end power, but the throttle was way too sensitive, and my truck smoked like a freight train (that got old after a mile or so).

Now I get over 20MPG empty, so I’m not too concerned about getting better MPG, but I won’t complain if it’s increased with a Smarty.

With that being said, I’m wondering if I should buy the Jr, or spend the extra $200.00 and go for the Sr. Do any of you with Jr’s regret not going for the Sr right away?

Thanks for any honest opinions and feedback.

It all depends on what you want to do in the future. There is alot more room to grow in Hp with Sr vs Jr.

If you plan on staying around stock-ish get the Jr. If you are going for +400hp get the Sr.

I have no intent on major HP gains. In fact, I think my truck tows fine stock. It’s when driving empty my truck is kind of slow from a stand still. I want it to have better drivability and feel like a “big-block” from a stand still. And I want this without all the smoke. I hope the Smarty will do this.

The “Ramifier” pressure box (I think that’s what it was) took care of the low end, but way too much smoke and sensitivity in the throttle.

I bought the smarty sr not too long ago and really like it. I have not hd the jr but I figured if I was going to buy I was buying the best. Every time I try to save a buck it bites me in the butt. Better to over do than be disappointed I figure.

I'll say this. I don't have any experience with the Jr, but I bought my Smarty Sr. with POD and started using it about a week ago. I know that you may not desire maximum horsepower, but the adjustability of it makes it the best IMO. Unless you can change all of the settings i.e.-torque management, timing, rp, wastegate, and adjust the power levels on demand with the Jr., I would reccomend the sr. with pod just because of the adjustability. just my $.02

I would buy the SR with the POD and be done with it. You wont regret the extra spending on it.

Thanks for the replys! I'm leaning more towards the Sr. now and will hopefully be ordering within the next month or so. I hope I like it as much all of guys/gals do.
