OK, my TNT results

I ran TNT again tonight. first sw6 tq3, rp3, tm default with no issues, truck ran good but had high egts, well higher than Revo non TNT sw9, tm3, tq3, rp3. Pulled pretty good but not as hard as I thought. Loaded sw7, tq3, rp3, tm3 and what a difference. Pulled super hard, lower egt and no popping. RP maintained at 23k with boost at 60psi. Pulled harder than the Revo sw9 I was running. I installed the dual line during this run just to see and it seems to work just thinking maybe if I take it off again I will see higher RP. Will run sw9, tq3, rp3, tm3 on Monday. I work 16hrs tomorrow. As long as I get no popping I will stay with the TNT.

Thats b/c SW#6 has zero timing to it, its a stack tune, no added timing = high egts (w/ the added fuel) and less power, and you ran TM on default. What did think was going to happen when you took away most the the TM and added timing?

You work 16hrs!? This job of yours is getting in the way of your diesel tuning. THanks for the info, I'm hoping something comes of this dual line debate, I'd love to see that it's part of the problem so I can put mine in the trash.

Ok this popping you guys get, is it something like this:

if I am moving along 40-45 and nail it, when it drops into passing gear, the truck startings bucking viloently almost like I am in and out of the pedal really fast. it smokes like crazy while this occurs and just feels nasty. can't be good for the truck.

I only get this on timing level 4 (mileage tune) on the regular REVO.

I haven't tried TNT yet, but was curious as to what is going on with your trucks. I really wish I could get some guidance on what it is. The software/or the truck as in fuel pressure or something.

anyway, just wanted to know what you guys thought. I asked a while back and just finally gave up on running timing 4 until yesterday and it still does it.

thanks

I thought my truck was the only one that bucked and went crazy like that. One day i just held it to the floor and after a few seconds of thinking the motor was going to break the mounts i got a check engine light. It was a crankshaft position code. My truck has done this several times going down the road as well. With bullydog, smarty, vanaaken. So its not just the programmer. I figured something in my tranny was about to let loose, literally.
I went through the whole popping episode last year (running out of fuel at rail) sledpulling. Dual pumps fixed that .

Yep, that's exactly what were talking about. I'm surprised your getting it on that level w/revo. I get it only w/ TNT, but on every power level.

Ok, seems pretty common.
I can run SW7, timing default, TQ 3or4, RP 2or3 all day lomng and it is fine. As soon as I change to timing 4, it goes nuts if I try to get on it. Drives good other than that.

So what the heck is causing it?

thanks guys

I am experienceing this with my RKL tune from Diablosport, on my 03 it will only pop in lower gears, in 4th gear it will not pop. As for my lil bros 06 it will not pop, plus I have way more timing rattle than him. I was thinking I was draining my rail. I see that POS is running dual cp3's so I dont know if that is the issue for you guys. I know the 03-04 trucks operate at lower rp than the 600 series engines but should that cause anything?

I've had some problems with the popping also. Thought it was rail pressure so installed a gauge .............rail pressure was not the problem. Only pops with the smarty
on a higher timing setting

That is a situation of too much timing, it will usually only do this at WOT in a certain RPM range. It usually only happens when you have aftermarket injectors of a certain size or larger. Just drop to a lower timing setting (from 2 to 3 for example).

Thanks, but that is the thing. I have stock injectors and it does it. I thought it has been said before that the regular REVO programs are safe throughout as far as timing goes, but I guess maybe they went to far on this program.

I will just keep it on default for now.

I dono, but it looks like its only happening on the 03 04 trucks. I'm not running TNT, but as far as with the revo, I havn't had any problems with mine yet. Runs really smooth. I run sw 5, timing 2, rp default, tm 2, and wastegate off and it runs really good

I just switched to the smarty and went to tnt. The tune rocks but it pops down low in rpm at wot. I think it is a rail pressure problem. The rail pressure can't seem to keep up on the first snap to wot. Duckcalin had the poping problem but as he says it seems to have gone away with the install of the stage 2 cp3.
