Numerically Lowest Gear For Our Trucks
I found a Mitchell gear splitter used, and just finished putting it in. It's an 18.2% overdrive unit, shifted in the cab. If left in overdrive, it effectively changes the 3.73 gears to around 3.08's.
I've not got any consistant fuel mileage numbers yet, as I think I'm having injector problems.
With 37's, 70 mph is around 1650 rpm.

I would love to have a overdrive unit but it would cost too much for me. I have a co-worker with a 05 and 4.10's that wants to swap me for my 3.73's. I would then take his carriers and put the lowest gears on I could find.... hopefully something lower than 3.42's. He is supposed to split the cost of the new gears if I can put this deal together.
The main reason for it is because I love my stacks. I hate the drone at 70 MPH (usual cruise speed) at 2k. I would like it lower and I dont think 3.42's would make it low enough.

Actually, from what I was calculating, the 3.42 isnt all that bad. I would like lower but if thats all I can get, then I have to make it work.
Who makes the best gears? Where did you get them?
