Nos?

who is hitting the juice and how is it working, ive been strongly thinking about setting my truck up. Would I have to worry about the timing advance of the tst. How much can the truck handle before danger of blowing head gasket? what hp is it worth?

i have it on my 05 but didnt hit it at the dyno ,was trtying for different 2 only numbers and ran out of time...the timing advance shouldnt be an issue because nos doesnt advance timing,as far as hp i will say it is going to be relative to the amount of smoke you have....

Supposedly from what I hear, a 100shot of NOS is equivelant to maybe 30whp if you have the extra smoke to burn (haze WOT).

I'm told just the opposite. Using very little will result in big gains in a diesel if the fuel is there. I don't use it, but have looked into it thoroughly (yeah I'm thinking about it also). I'm told for diesels that you intend to drive everyday and need to remain reliable, NOS is better used as a catalyst to burn the fuel you already have, using just enough to turn all that unburned fuel into power that is currently going out as black smoke. A small 30hp shot from a single jet in a diesel will produce upwards of 150+ additional HP if you already have a decent amount of black smoke. You really don’t want to run more than it takes to clear up the smoke as it will result in unnecessarily high cylinder pressures which will pop your head gasket over time. Also, you had better have a good turbo as well or it will pop as soon as you hit the button. Don't even think of trying it with a stock huffer. Good stuff, but use in moderation. Something like this is all you need: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...81&prmenbr=361

AK how big is that tank and where do you put it? have you also studied the methanol systems and their comparative merits?

That particular bottle (10 lb) is 21"L X 7" diameter. NOS makes the same kit with whatever size bottle you want. Just call and request it. For me, I would get the 5 lb bottle so it would fit in the storage compartment under the rear passenger seat with a couple low profile clamps. It would be out of the way and well protected. 5 lbs should be plenty for just playing around occasionally. This page has all the bottle dimensions displayed: http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...plcmtBttl.html

I have looked at water/meth but it scares me. If EGTs were my primary concern I might would consider it. It is finicky to dial in, hard to get consistent results due to different strength mixtures (got to be perfect every time), and seems to make blowing a head gasket a matter of "when", not "if." You can get everything set up perfect and then add just a little too much meth to your mix one day while in a hurry and it is all over. I do like the cooling effect, but just not worth it to me as EGTs are not an issue on this rig. I have heard of guys lifting their head just priming the meth at the drag strip. I don't want to have to think that hard about it.

I'm running it, and I like it I put a kit together myself with Nitrous Express components. I wanted it mainly as a novelty and to help cut the small amount of lag I get between shifts when racing. With a single charger you'll see more gains than with twins, but the post about getting less with a diesel seems pretty accurate. I'm running a very modest jet in a .093 solenoid and see a 30 hp gain at peak power and about 85 hp gain off peak (around 2k rpms). I have a 10 lb bottle, and it lasts quite a while with my small dosage. As long as you don't go real crazy on the jet sizing your HG will be okay.

Yes, single turbos work best with nitrous. Or I should say, get as larger gain.

I have seen 531 with Diesel and a 93 pill take that to 660. on a single turbo truck. TST box of course on KILL. This was with stock injectors.
