Nitto Terra Grappler 305/70/17 E
Nitto Terra Grappler 305/70/17 E
Anyone have this tire. Nitto's home page says it's 33.98 inches tall and it is "E" rated. Looks like it is the perfect tire size [at least for me].
Talked to a local dieler, he said it is a new size and can get them for $208.00 each.

I have them now on my Centerline 17x9 wheels with 4.5" offset and a 2" level kit. They will rub some while turning but with this offset they stick out there a bit. My 295's didn't rub at all. But they are an awesome tire. I am going to check into lifting another inch or so or modify my fenders a little for clearance. Stock wheels would be no problem with a level kit. I got mine at Discount Tire. I checked Discounttiredirect.com and haggled the price with my local store. They matched and then some. I have done that a few times as the local store usually wants 15 to 20 bucks more per tire. They even tried to tell me that was shipping charge but at "direct" shipping is free, to my door, let alone a shop they regularly deliver to. Check it out. I got all 4 mounted and balanced for over a hundred less then the local store origional price.
Well interesting stuff in the previous two posts. I don't see how a specific tire can be called a nail magnet. If you run over a nail the right way it's going to puncture any tire no matter what name is on the sidewall....
I have had 3 trucks each with a set of new Terra Grap's on them. I never had any flats, nails, irregular wear, none of the issues mentioned previously. I was going to buy a 4th set for my Ram but came accross 06 alloys for sale that had new toyo rubber so I just bought them instead. The toyos look pretty similar to the Terra Grap so I am happy for now. Next tire will be a Nittos though.

Is that an otd price? If so, it's a pretty screem'en deal.

Well it's all the same with any product. One person has great experiences with a product and another has some negative to say.
That's funny, none of my sets ever did that.
I have seen them, they look like a decent tire. Ugly though, lol.

I have nitto terra grapplers 285/55 r20's on mine. I have had no problems whatsoever. Any tire can be crappy to anybody who abuses them. And then some tires just plain suck. I've never seen a set of ProComps wear slow. I have alot of friends running them and they wear faster than any tire I've seen. It's really all about preference.(and price)
Procomp XTA all the way...
The Nittos look like they should belong on a car next to the XAT's...lol.
And...btw...lets not confuse "other" ProComps with the new XAT's and XMT's.
These new Procomp's are animals...and quiet and LAST. I finally lost the "casting" nipples at 10k. They will last 50k plus...and have a mileage warrenty.

You say that like Procomp is the only tire with a mileage warranty. ( I have it too) lol. And yes, my best friend has the new XATs on his truck(a 1/2 ton), and they are wearing the same as my nittos. We also tackle gravel and these highways they're screwing up with heavier road mix( I think they were tired of all the burnouts on the road). Im not saying one's better than the other, I'm just saying that no one person is alike in preference. I haven't had any complaints as my friend either. They are BOTH good tires with warranties.
