Well I had one of the regular heat rated screens that got black in the heat, I have a new one now and no darkness problems.

I live in denver and it is getting a little cooler in the mornings, not sure if that is the cause, but the last two mornings when I first key on the truck, before its started the egt gauge goes crazy and says like 9000 degrees, after you start it, it goes back to normal, but I have the screen set on the 3 position setting, boost on the left, egt and trans on right. After I start it it puts the egt in the left where the boost was and in the right where it is supposed to be. Not sure why, not a real big deal, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

 

It still does this every morning that it is a little cool. EGT's flash 1800 or so when the truck is first keyed on and not even started yet.

Anyone else seeing this?

Any remedies Quad?

 

I don't see that it really matters, so what if it flashes something. Does it start reading correctly after the quick flash? If so then there is no problem.....Why don't you just sell all your quad stuff and buy something else, You obviously aren't happy with it.

 

I guess I am not sure what is wrong with it? All I can figure is that when the screen is slightly colder the update of the liquid crystals is just slow enough that you can see everything zero out and reset on start up?

If it reads right I guess I don't understand why seeing a reset on startup is any issue. I guess this is like the CEL coming on when you turn your key on and then going off.

 

When I fire up my soldering iron, the digital readout say's 666 then goes to zero.... Maybe they're both posessed.

 

That isn't the problem, the problem is instead of displaying the boost in the left spot like it is supposed to it displays EGT's in two spots, where the egt was and where the boost was, so it no longer displays boost.

Lrdchaos, if you bothered to read the whole post you would know the answer to your ? so unless you have some actual knowledge to add to the subject how about you just keep your useless comments to yourself.

 

O boy, Larry is going to be on you guy's for these harsh comments to one another.

 

I'd send it back to Quad and let them fix it...

 

Once again...why don't you just get rid of it....you have had nothing but problems with it and all you do is clog up the internet with your problems. Why don't you try the edge or tst. I know if I had to start a new post about my problems every other day I would find something else....Just a thought..
