Newbie!!

Just bought a brand new 05 Dodge 2500 last month. I had a 00 F-350 Powerstroke and wanted to try the Cummins and I love it so far. There are a lot of different mod companies to choose from, just not sure where to get it from. I sold my 03 Cobra and got a truck. The cobra had 602 RWHP and I would like to do some less serious mods to the truck. Exhaust, chip, intake....etc Im well aware that just those 3 things give you crazy amount of power but dont know what company to buy from. I first want to get an exhaust and I saw the crazy 6" from Bullydog or the dual 4" from Banks, dont know which route to take or what to do, feedback would help. TIA

Also, I am car hauler and I use my truck from pulling.

Depending what you want to spend I would:

Upgrade tranny
guages
exhaust (just about any 4 or 5" mandrel bend exhaust will do.)
box(tst or edge juice w/attitude) tst if you want serious power
fuel system (I have a Haisley's, but most people use Fass)
Turbo (sps66 for a single or maybe a set of twins since you do a lot of towing.)

pm if any more questions.
Have fun with your new baby, once you get the power bug it just keeps growing. With this set up on an auto you should prob be able to run 13's or better in the quarter.

I dont want to go overboard and spend as much as I did with my 10 sec Cobra. I met this guy in NY over the weekened who has the same truck as mine with the Banks Six gun and some sort of Intake. Says he paid $1k for the chip, NO PALM PILOT, just switch. Is it true that you need the Banks torque converter if you get the chip? I wouldnt like to do all that stuff. Another words, whatever it takes for my car to get somewhere in the 13s-14s 1/4mile range without spending serious money and hopefully keeping the turbo stock.

It will save you money and time.

MBRP makes a muffler to replace your stock one and a pipe to delete your kitty.

If I had known that before I put on this bullydog turbo back kit I would have saved a few hun.

Thats what I thought because isnt the system 4" STOCK? So replacing the muffler and the Cats will act as if I bought a 4" catback from banks or whatever? Also, by removing those (2) will the sound still be that deep(somewhat raspy) semi-truck sound? Any videos would be nice.

Mine is LOUD!!! sound is goin to depend on brand though. I will probably change my muffler at some point for something that sounds deeper and meaner. You could also try just removin the muffler and leavin the kitty. Some guys say that is a good sounding setup.

Let me know if you have videos of some of these different types of exhaust. I really want to be loud as if the truck had STACKS. How many mufflers does the truck have? The HUGE one in the back or any other resonators in the front? Also, what causes the black smoke? removing the muffler or ONLY by removing the CAT or CATS??

I'm pretty sure that your truck has one muffler (rear) and one cat (front) which is precisely one more of each than I want on my truck.

Black smoke is unburned fuel. It is caused by an aggressive fueling box, and a turbo that has not spolled enough to give it enough air to burn the fuel that is being injected.

A diesel is free to draw as much air as it wants, limited by the turbo. But it has to spoll up before it can do any good.
