New Rims! 20x9 KMC XD Monsters w/ 35" Toyo MTs
New Rims! 20x9 KMC XD Monsters w/ 35" Toyo MTs
I finally got my new rims installed! They are the 20x9 KMC XD Monster wheels with 5.7" backspacing and 18mm offset wrapped in 35" Toyo MT tires. They probably stick out a little more than an inch compared to my stock 17" rims with the 35" Toyos.
I really liked the clean look of the truck without flares, but the tires kicked up a lil too much water/dirt/etc. than I liked, so I added a set of painted Bushwacker pocket flares. The fit/finish of the flares was excellent. Install was very straightforward (although it's very time consuming putting all the bolts onto the flares as well as wrapping the flares with the rubber molding). Expect to spend about 1-2 hours to put the flares together and get them installed. Be sure to drill the holes in the flares before you get them painted and do not over torque the bolts on the plastic.
A couple finishing touches in the looks department still need to be done, including...53Willys black headlight mod, black exhaust (soon to be 5" when new turbos arrive), and Recon smoked roof lights and 3rd brake light. I'm open to suggestions/criticisms!
DTT tranny will be done as soon as DTT sends the parts to my builder, which should be any day...I hope! Thuren 3" lift setup as soon as I can get Don some money for him to start building. And I'm "on the list" for a set of MPI Twins, just waiting for Nathan's call!
I will be selling my stock 17" black-powdercoated rims as well as a set of stock 17" steel rims. Look for them in the classifieds later this evening.

Yep, I just moved a few months ago, it's a great location!
It's just a levelling kit, the tires actually rub just a hair at full turn now with the fender flares. Looks like it's time for a full Thuren setup!
