New PML Diff Cover
I am getting ready to purchase the PML diff cover for the rear and I was wondering if I need to get a new gasket or reuse the old one. Also how many quarts of fluid do I need to refill. The company says it holds 3/4 of a quart more then stock but how much is stock. Thanks in advance for you answers.
I just put one on, the stock gasket is stout, you should have no need to change it unless you damage it some way. Nice cover for the money.
Less than five quarts is what I remember. There is a guy on fleabay selling cases of Valvoline SynPower 75-90, I paid about $5 a quart. A lot better than close to $20 a quart for Amsoil locally.

Thanks to all those that replied. I order one from Geno's Garage but it is on back order. Yesterday I unscrewed the fill plug on the rear diff cover to see if it was filled to the correct amount and it is every so slightly above the fill hole as is comes out very slowly. It has a graphite color and smells like used gear oil (I guess). Just wondering if the color is normal as I have read on this site that some folks are milky color in appearance.

What do you mean by "graphite in color"? Like it's full of metal shavings? If it's just a darkish color your fine. Just check everything out real good when you pull the cover. Do you plan on filling it with synthetic? Since your in there that's going to be your best bet.

Mine looked the same way when I changed it for the first time, now it looks almost new when I change it. Think I remember someone saying its a break in additive? Anyway, feel a lot better having it look clean.
Well I installed the cover and put in 4.5 quarts of Amsoil Servere Gear 75w90. Does the fill and level plugs take a 9mm Allen wrench or is it a SAE size? I used a large standard screwdriver to tighten those plugs up and it seem to work ok.
Per my email to PML:
"The drain is 1/2-20 magnetic drain plug with a copper washer. Here is a
link that shows a picture, http://www.yourcovers.com/acc_dp-mag.php.
this uses a 9/16 socket wrench.
The fill & level check are 1/2-14 npt pipe plugs. I do not have a
picture of these. These use a allen wrench.
The cover for your vehicle is P/N 10361, here is a link,
