New Lift and Tires HELP

Hello. I am lookin to get a new lift for the old cummins. First thing what do you guys think. This is what i want out of it so let me know some ideas.
I would like a skyjacker or fab tech which one is better?
I would like to get a 6in lift
I would like 38in tires

Will the 38s fit on the truck with a 6in lift or will i have to go higher I DONT WANT TO go higher because i pull a trailer with my truck so i think 6in is good enough. WHAT do you guys think

If the 38s wont fit what tire will fit with a 6in lift

Can you guys give some ideas on a tire that wont be really loud when i drive but still has a overall Awesome look and performance.

THANK A LOT GUYS

My brother has a skyjacker on his Jeep and it still rides like factory and it was super simple on the install.

38 Won't fit with a 6" lift. 37's will. You could fit 38's with a 2" body lift or drc/glassworks unlimited fiberglass fenders. I would like to know which lift is better too. My superlift springs are saging and I'm looking at getting skyjacker or fabtech 4.5" springs.

I don't think so. Skyjackers lift give 5" with the hemi and 4.5" with the diesel.

37's will probably fit on the 5" Skyjacker lift if they are on the stock rims. Anything other then that and they won't fit.

It all depends on the width of the wheels and tires as well as the backspacing. I run 37x10s on 7.5" wide wheels on a stock height truck. With a 5" lift, you could easily fit 40s if your wheels were 8" and your tires were only 11 or 12" wide. It is all about the right combination as was stated before.

Thank you Thank you...someone else understands the value of correct size wheels.

There are guys out there that run 37's on a 4.5" lift and 37's on 6"...its all in the wheels. I think if you can run 37's on a 4.5" then you should be able to run 38 on a 6"

You might have alittle rubbing with 38's on a 6" but probably not much if any if you get the correct size wheel. It would be a no brainer and cheaper if you went with a 37" but Ive been waiting for someone to put some 38" Toyo's under their CTD for a while... and hope you do i

There's alot of talk out there about new taller lifts comming out in the near future and a few members piceing together their own custom 8-10" lifts.

It can be done and by all means dont get a body lift..

Ive heard of Thuren making custom hieght lifts but his are more of a racing suspension then a lift which is what you want...

I'm shocked the ra ra KORE guys havent replied yet to your 6" lift thread.

Dan

I would DEFINITELY go with a Thuren lift. He can even include a front axle push of up to 1" forward in your kit. His kit is less than my 6" Fabtech was for my H2 and I know it will be 100 times better. I am only lifting the front 4" and the rear 2" (so it sits level) and will be running 41x12" tires so you will be fine!

GO THUREN!!!

P.S. Little Dan: YOU ARE WELCOME!!

You could fit a 38" tall tire under a 6" lift, the problem is most 38" tires are 14.5+ inches wide. The width is what will kill you. Even with the proper wheels, the width of the tire will get into the fender.

I can get 5in lift skyjacker a 5.5 with a fabtech and superlift does make a 6in lift for the cummins. ANY ONE know which one i should go with. I would like to get the 6in lift but i dont think superlift is a good lift. IT IS nothing but looks for me i am NOT doing any off roadin so the superlift wil have blocks but i am just not sure if i want that. Let me know your thoughts thanks

I would go with the Thuren suspension. The ride quality will be like a Caddy!

I'm running 37's with about 4 inches of lift.

I would get the BDS 6 inch and run the skinny 38 inch Toyo MT's. They make a 38x13.50 for an 18 and a 20 inch wheel. Get a 10 inch wide wheel but with 4.5 inches of backspacing.

You could get the stuff from Thuren and build it very nicely, but if you are just going to cruise on the highway, then I wouldn't bother. Just get some nice shocks or something. Thuren's setup won't cost that much more, and if you want great performance like you mentioned in your first post, then go with his stuff. If you just want looks like you mentioned in your most recent post, then go with whatever. It's all the same. I like BDS's long arm setup. I would not get anything that comes with blocks for the rear.
