I just installed my S&B intake also. I removed the silencer ring last week when i bought the truck. It whistles pretty loud. 
I also installed the RPMOUTLET muffler delete pipe. What a pita to install. 
I ended up having to slot the muffler. I wish they made the things with ball sockets from the factory.
