New to forum and need info on boxes.
I have a 05 ctd 4x4 with the nv5600 (maybe that is right) anyways I hear it is a good 6sp to have. well I had an edge juice with attitude on it when I bought it and money got tight so I sold it. I have read on here that smarty is the way to go. I HAVE NO IDEA about diesel performance so please by all means help me out. Does the smarty have the little box where I can change it in the truck? I did like that about the edge. I was also wondering about price and the whole fuel mileage and towing benefits. I install hardwood and ceramic tile so I have some days I have to haul a little bit of a load. I'd really like to be able to turn it up and just BLOW smoke sometimes.
any help is appreciated.

You cant change power levels on-the-fly like you could with the Edge. Plugs into data port under dash, you select which software you want and load it, then unplug and have fun. I love mine and have no intentions of getting rid of it. As for price, click on Shop Dtr on the menu and you can get one right here at the DTR shop (I did) or smartypower.com as well as others. If you want smoke, Smarty provides PLENTY!! Fuel mileage gains? I dont know, I cant keep my foot off the pedal long enough to see what gains there are. Ive never towed with my truck yet, but there some guys that do with Smarty, mostly on lower settings I believe.

I gotta join 'stroke on this one - - Smarty is awesome. I haven't gone too wild with it yet, but so far it has impressed the heck out of me. Easy to use, effective, and a small boost in MPG. I got mine through DTR and they make a good deal and have a helpful man at the helm. Good luck!

thanks guys. I was reading on the smarty today and it specifically says NO towing on setting one. so which one is the best to haul on. I haul an enclosed trialer full of tools and hardwood or ceramic tile EVERY day. ANY ADVICE???

I would suggest #3 if you haven't done any tranny work, #5 or #7 if you have. I have it currently on #3 without any tanny work and I have plenty of power to tow and still be conservative enough not to break anything. Just my opinion though...
