New to this forum.........
Just wanted to thank everyone here, I have been surfing this site for some time and have found a ton of useful information, it really helped in my decision to purchase my first diesel powered truck..
Been very happy to date with my Cummins motor, but, it is still early, less than 2000 miles.
Quick question for any of you Dodge 06 2500 owners, love the truck, hate the small tires, does anyone know if I can upgrade tire size, from LT 265's to something on the lines of the Mickey Thompson 33's ATZ's without too much ride loss or any other issues?
I have done some searching here and have not found anyone else posting about these tires specifically............
Again, thank you all for your very useful info, and any insight you may have for me on my new toy...........

h ride loss or any other issues?
im pretty sure that you would get a better ride. i have 35's bfg and its more of a glide compared to the little solid rocks i had on it before. lost no gas mileage or power so i think youll be alright unless you put a lift besides a leveling kit.

i'm running 35's and ilost somewhere in the area of about 3mpg. i do feel a little power loss and it's more noticable when towing. it could be a combination of the tires, 5" lift(the wind it's pushing) , and heavy full replacement bumpers. i still have the 3.73 gear and will either change that or go back to a slightly smaller tire. just for comparison on my ford gasser with a 35" tire i had 4.56 gears to compensate for the difference.

i think my speedo being off could be my major problem. the dealer tried to calibrate it but they said "we got close" so what does close mean. I've paced a buddy at mine saying 65 and he was right at 68. where i got the 3mpg was from when i had the superchips and used there speedo calibration. so in truth i don't know how much it hurt me accuratley (sp). i do notice a difference though if i jump from my truck to a buddies with 285's. i think if i'm gonna keep this size tire i might want to change my gearing to the 4.11

thats awesome. like i had posted earlier i had to put 4.56 in my gasser ford with the 35's to equal the 3.73 it had with the original tires so i figure the 4.11 will be great. i'm thinking this is the reason i've been hating the way it shifts.
