New Bilstiens = Happier Driver!

Just got done putting on the Bilstien 5100 series shocks, and I MUST say that other than the Quad X2 , they are the most noticeable improvement I have made to my truck to date! While the ride is still firm, the bumps and potholes are noticeably less jarring and the truck is definately more stable. It used to jump around over washboard type surfaces and that is all but gone! Anyone considering this upgrade trust me you wont be dissapointed! I have a buddy with a half ton that is convinced after riding in mine to put them on his 07 with 20,000 miles!

Nice report. If you dont mind me askin where did you get them? I am curious as to if they are standard valved or if they have been modded.

I keep hearing about how great these bilstiens are and I will try them but my truck rides like glass now, I dont see how a set of shocks can help that much but I will try them.

This is the info I have on them. They came from top gun customz. Fair price, fair shipping, and had them in 2 days. Ordered them Monday and had them by 10:00 Wed. morning.

i also run the 5100 serious. this shock works on the 2500's because it was intentionally meant to be used on 1500 trucks with a three inch lift. bilstein now has a heavy duty shock specifically meant for our trucks now! these shocks are the traditionally yellow bilstein shock

The silver bodied 5100s are great shocks, especially for the price.

Sorry dont kow for sure, but you could check www.bilstein.com and see. I know that I liked the look of the silver ones the best and the ride is unbeatable. Everyone kept telling me that they really improved the ride of the dodge and I cant agree more. Smooooothes the bumps, it doesnt shake the entire truck! You could also give www.jackit.com a try. Thats where I got mine and they have a toll free number you could call and ask them. They sell alot of bilstein shocks.

got a place right here in town that has both the yellow bilsteins for 275 for a set of 4 , and also have the 5100 bilsteins for 320 for a set of 4. not a bad price and dont have to wait for them either, just want to know the difference between them.

The 5100 have more travel and are needed in front to prevent topping the shock if you have a level kit. I got mine from Off Road Warehouse for $283 including shipping.

The "extra" bounce after rolling over a raised section of highway (like an RR crossing) is completely controlled. Stutter bumps are totally controlled. Rocking esistance (anti-sway bar reaction) is improved. Overall ride is noticably more stable.

Good upgrade.
