Chad Layton,

Nice truck man!

You Leer 100XQ guys are starting to sway me. The tops do look good on the Dodge's. And most tops don't!

But the Leer is very pricey as Britt said.... I better start saving now!

Sorry for the delay, the flares are from Bushwacker. They are the extend-a-fender model. They provide the most coverage without having to go to a cut out flare. I like them pretty well, too. At first, I wasn't too impressed with the fit but I did some drilling on my own and that fixed'em.

I wouldn't recommend them for anyone with a light colored truck though. You really need to use the rubber trim pieces with the Bushwacker's and it might look odd up against a lighter colored truck.

Just my thoughts.

Christmas was good, I got a new Bully Dog Power Pup downloader with the Outlook monitor and the AFE ProGuard 7 air filter (it's in the mail). New carpeted weather proof mats too! I love this truck!

Nice truck man! And if that is your house...its nice too!

Those Leer Tops look nice. Do you have any issues with how the glass is mounted to the top. It appears to be very different compared to other tops.

How does the glass open? From the rear or the bottom?

Take a closer look at the ARE Z series cap- pretty sure they have a website. The inside is carpet lined, I put in an optional inner fold down panel sliding glass window, and the best thing is the rear locking cylinder. It's a slam type latch that grabs on both ends via cable instead of lever arms. It's a pretty nice feature and is a quality product. Has a lifetime warrenty on paint and the cap as well. Also the side windows have a nice crank out rear half for ventilation that is also screened. You should check it out closely before making a decision- I got mine because we use the truck for fishing trips when the boat is in the water, and a lot of gear needs to be kept secure during the trips back and forth to the marina.
Also- they have an option for a remote keyless enty as well. A friend of mine has it on his GMC and loves it. I found some links- here they are.

I have the cheaper Leer 100R with the fisherman package and also had the same model on my 1998 1500. I have never had any problems with Leer caps and the cap on my 2004 looks like they have updated the styling alot. Checkout my gallery.

papaperk,

the glass opens from the back rear bottom corner. it opens up like a minivan window. just enough to let some air in. it is kind of hinged at the top and front of the window. i have only used it once just to see how it worked.
