Need quick advice. Should I run down and get my muffler removed?

Got some free time today. Was thinking of going to a 5 inch system later on in the year when I get my $600 from the govt.

Anyway I want to louden up my truck some now. Thinking of running it down to an exhaust shop and telling them to just throw a 4 inch pipe in place of the muffler on.

How much should I expect to spend and will this be annoyingly loud?

Heh, calling around no one in town can bend 4 inch pipe ... Maybe this is a no go unless they can angle it in properly.

That was the problem I had. Nobody could bend 4" pipe. The shop that done mine just used a straight piece of pipe and angled it as much as possible. It pulled the tailpipe around just a tad, but looked good.

Just get a straight piece of 4" and swell both ends then clamp it. It works fine this way.

So they can angle it? Called like 15 places here and a couple towns over and none of them can bend 4 inch pipe.

Guess I'll get it angled and done this weekend since it's almost 5 now.

Also, it's not going to resonate the heck out of my truck on the freeway will it?

Cut an angle on both ends and itll line up just fine.

I did mine like that in my buddies driveway the 2nd day I had my '05, took about 4ft of pipe(cut some off to fit), cut appropriate angles on either side, then borrowed his welder and buttoned it up.

Just put that $75 to 100 into you savings account for a 5" system factory straight pipe just gets annoying.

cost me 80 bucks and that after they welded my magnaflow together since i just clamped it when i put it on myself. All they need is a straight piece of 4 inch pipe.

and the only time i find that the exhaust will drone is when im hauling and at about 1600 rpm on the highway while accelerating. Cant beat the sound!!

i wouldn't pay $75 for someone to angle cut and weld in a 4 inch pipe. Maybe $40.

Cool so they welded up the system and gave you some 4 inch pipe for 80.
