in need of new steps

well im short so i gotta have steps got some bully adjusable ones loved them........ while they lasted had them on bout year- year and a half and the bracket just broke its cheap alum. im gonna write them and see what they will do about them but im deff not gonna use them again so im in the market for steps kinda leaning towards just ss nerf bars but would rather do somthing less common like the bull steps. i would rather have "steps" to instead of bars. i have a std cab 06 i like the nfab bars but all i can find them is std cab but short bed. if anyone has pictures please post i would greatly appreciate it no matter what your steps are bars or anything thanks in advance

AMP RESEARCH POWER STEPS!
http://amp-research.com/products/tru.../powerstep.asp
I have these and I LOVE them, I never used to step on the other steps that I had. They were so high that I might as well just step in the door. These come down far enough that I use them every time I get in, and then go back up to where you cannot even see them. I have a 4" lift and would not have another truck without them, also I am 6'5" tall so if you are short like you said then it might be the same as you not having a lift kit. I think you would like them. They are a little more money up front but very well built and well engineered.

I have these and have been very happy with them. They mount directly to the frame and they won't budge. Very stout. More pics in my gallery. Good luck with the choices.

The nfab steps are pretty nice too. I don't have them but they're probably the ones I'll get if I ever get steps. I like those amp research steps alot but its hard for me to drop 13-14 hundred bucks on a set of steps

I got mine for just over $1100 and I installed them myself. I paid almost $500 for the last set of steps that had and they were cheaply made. These amp steps are very well built and I can see why they are expensive. In my opinion they were worth the extra because I think they will out last some of the others out there, except the ranch hands because I think they are indestructable.

ok cool, well maybe I might look into them after all. I had just asked a buddy that had em on his truck how much he paid for them and he told me 1400 and I just said nevermind and didn't even look into them. Where'd you get yours at?

i have the nfab bars with three steps on them. i liked the idea of the low profile bar, but still having steps. i was very bummed when arrived and i realized they mount to the pinch weld on the body, very flimsy. probably going to take them off because if i even tap a step on something 4x4ing it will crush the body. get ones that mount to the frame!

I had a set of nerf bars on my truck. Caught a good-sized rock with the R front tire, it threw up into the bottom of the nerf bar and bent it UP toward the cab. Of course, just enough to interfere with both of my pass side doors opening. I took off the nerf bar, can't fix it, I would have to buy another set of 2 to fix/replace it.

I looked into the n-fabs, would be nice to have a step in the bed area to access the toolbox from the side, but once again I could have the same problem I had with the other nerf bar. While their steps do come down from the bar, the attachment becomes my issue because it could damage the cab if it is hit on something large off-roading.

I am considering the CARR steps, not the big ones, just the smaller ones that would do the job a step needs to do. They, like the n-fab bolt through the pinch weld area but do have a good sized secondary back-up plate that does give better support in the pinch-weld surrounding area, something the n-fabs do not have.

I have also considered the Ranch Hand steps like TexasCTD has, but they do not drop down as low as the hoop style CARR steps, and with the 35" tires. I really need the step to drop down some, I'm like you, a little short legged.

CD....I'll bet the RH's could be modified pretty easy to where they could step down lower. If you have access to a welder and some steel plate and a drill, I can almost guarantee it. Just a thought. But if you can buy another brand that hangs lower that you like just as well....then I guess you should get them.

The "WOW" factor of the AMP steps still attracts attention. I often have people ask me to "do it again" so they can watch.
Plus the steps give great access when the doors are open and tuck away hidden when closed.
