Need a new handle!!!

The other day my cousin yanked the oh- handle off the passenger side of my truck. The two bolts that hold it reamined there but the plastic mounts in the handle were ruined. Where is the best place to get another one?

Can you take a picture of it? Depending on the damage, and where it's at, you may be able to repair it very cheeply. If it is ruined right where it bolts to the frame, I'd pour some heavy epoxy in the holes, let it dry, then drill out the holes.

Sounds like the frame is fine, since the bolts are still there - just need a new handle??

I will give this a try if a new handle cost alot.

Looking there right now. Sure do apreciate it.

Also, has anyone noticed that the 03's have an extra piece of trim that runs from the top of the handle to the bottom facing the window.

I will try to get some pics up soon

The first two pictures are the broken bolt holes. The third picture is of my bosses 06 mega and you can see that trim is not there and the last pic is of my handle with an arrown pointing to the trim I am talking about.

I just want to make sure I get a handle with that trim so it matches the other.

Is that extra trim part of your handle? Does it come off? I didn't drive my truck today, but I will check on mine when I get home and post back.

It is glued or heated onto the handle. It came like that from the factory. I don't think it would be possible to take if off and put it on another handle without messing it up.

Thats what I figured, well I will check when I get home on mine - maybe the Megas are a bit different than the quad cabs? You could always call Dodgeparts and see if they know? or call a dealer to get exact part number and then find it online?

Good idea. I will do that on the other hand my friends 06 quad cab and 07 quad cab dually does not have that trim either. To be honest I never really noticed it until I installed my Commander mount which has to lay over it causing the Commander to be just a little offset.

Yeah I don't remember the trim being on mine when I had it off, but that is an easy thing to forget... maybe someone else with an 03 will chime in...

Ya i have a 2003 and the trim comes off. It was on my old Driver pillar and when i got the autometer triple pod pillar i took it off the stock one and put it on the autometer one. I think its glued on or something but mine came off easly and I guled it to the autometer one. Hope that helps

I have an '06 without the trim piece. I kind of like the look with the trim, it gives it a "finished" look.

It was probably eliminated as part of another Dodge cost cutting measure.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if just the trim pieces are available? I have the Commander and pod and they don't fit real well against the window, so I'm thinking adding the trim might look better (unless it makes it offset as CrazyFloyd mentioned).

Ill have to take pics of the commander and exactly how it offsets. Basically the mount goes all the way to the window and covers the trim up. If I would take the time to trim the window side down of the commander mount.

The driver's side A-Pillar handle broke off twice on the '05; last time I fiberglassed all around the rear of the plastic bosses (where they break) and it's held my weight fine since then.
