Need Help on Tuner Selection

Guys I don't have time to research and beat every option to death when it comes to power enhancements. So please help me out a little even though I know you get hit with a lot of these type of inuiries.

1. I am looking for something that will basically replace the lost power I am going thru with my oversized tires, or maybe even add a little beyond that.

2. I am looking for something economical. (not a ton of $$$)

3. I am looking for something that will help with fuel economy.

4. I would like something that will work well for trailer towing--smooth power delivery, no weird noises, codes, etc.

5. I am also looking for something that is relatively tranny safe and has low EGTS.

6. I would also like something warranty friendly (untraceable) since I am still under warranty.

At this time I don't want to go thru building my trans, etc. I decided to go all out with multi stage chips and injectors, etc on my PSD and it cost me tons of money in the long run--not only on the fun stuff, but all the parts the fun stuff broke. This time around I am being a little most prudent. Yes I would love to have a built tranny and the whole works, but can't justify it.

Thanks.

1 Lots of moderate level boxes to get back the lost power.
2 Most performance boxes/downloaders at proper settings and common sense increase performance and mileage.
3 See 2 above.
4 Juice, Quad xzt, others also.
5 Juice, Banks, TST, some others have protection also.
6 Forget it, none of the above is that safe or warranty friendly.

if there was one box/programmer that fit all of your requirements it would probably outsell all of the others combined. there is no completely vehicle/warranty safe tuner out there as any time you increase hp and tourque the way most of them do you have inherent risks. pick a moderately powered one from a reliable company, buy some gauges, and try to keep your foot out of it... or on the other hand you can load up crazy larry, floor it and make your neighbors think there's a total solar eclipse...

I know this is pretty picky on my part, but my main considerations are something the dealer can't trace, will give me back a little power, and not cost an arm and a leg.

Between the Quad standard and Edge, which has more timing and smoothest response, and least dealer traceable?

both the same on the trace part once its removed its gone no worries. Im sure the quad is great to just never used that box, if it just hooks to the map and press. sensor like the edge either will come off the truck in under 5 min. The power from the ez is very impresive buy its self. Also very nice weatherproof box that you mount on the fuse box, and your done. Theres prob. not much diff. in them pick the one you can get the best price on and do it! Both stand behind there work and products! Good Luck- Order today!

Every tuner or box on the market CAN be traced, just depends on how good the mechanic is. I like my predator, mostly because the price was right. Good luck.

Smarty They say 100% undectable but that is a huge debate. Lower power settings for what you want now, and in the near future turn it up instead of buying a more powerful chip. Thats just one evry person will tell you something different. If you are scarred of voiding your warrenty put the stock tires back on and leave at that.

Quad XZT. Great power, cheap (bought a used one for $150 shipped to my door) and you can unplug it and its gone within 5 minutes... Smarty is great, but pricey, and probably alot more power than you'll want if you don't plan to build your truck up otherwise.

i would say either a edge ez or an edge juice with attitude (attitude displays up to 4 digital gauges) a standard edge juice w/ att. you can pick up used for a little over 500 used.

I also vote for Edge Juice/Attitude. I have used a ton of different chips/programmers including stuff from Quadzilla, Edge, Bully Dog, Banks, and Diablo Sport. The Juice/Attitude is by far my favorite. It has the smoothest power delivery and best safety features for someone who is overly "protective" of their truck. Plus with the Hot version, you have quite a bit of power to play with in the future.

For your info, I just picked up a slightly used Edge Juice/Attitude with the Hot setting unlocked for $600. This was for an '06 model truck.
