Need help finding 12v light source for Optix gauge install
Finishing up my Dipricol Optix gauge install this morning, but I cannot find a 12V source that comes on with the lights that is not tied to the dimmer. The Optix gauges have their own built in dimmers, and the 12V for the LEDs are supposed to come from a 12v souce that is live when the light are turned on.
I checked all the wires behine the headlight switch, but the only one with 12v is the dimmer circuit. I was thinking of possibly tieing into the parking lamp relay output, but cannot locate the wires unedr the dash.
Any other suggestions??

I think I found one that will work...
I'm not sure what it goes to.. but there is an unused 2 wire harness on the drivers side behind the center dash panel that is hot when the lights are on. Works great!!
Thanks!

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to tie the backlights to your dimmer control? The built-in dimmer pots on the gauges are a one-time set and forget as as you turn the dash gauges up or down, the Optix will remain the same brightness if you don't tap the dimmer line.
I tapped mine off the light switch dimmer control line, matched the brightness to the dash gauges and enjoy being able to lower them when needed. I find the less light pollution in the cab at night, the easier it is to concentrate on what's outside the cab.
