I am looken at a 2003 dodge dually 4x4 and cant seem to find any really good mods for a non 600 .. I want some hp and lots of smoke.. I know its not like my 06..this truck is dirt cheap and I want to know what mods are out their before I think about buying it.. bad part is I need to buy it like tomorrow because it is up for Repossession and my company is the one who has the order to take the truck..

 

Go with the Diablo Predator Downloader. You can get it for under $400 you can go extreme tune at 165 horse = pretty good smoke. I got it and like it.
But I am one in thousands here.

 

for the 03, the diablosport is a very good option,, The edge juice is also a good option, especially the hot juice,, but it would help to know what you have, (auto, manual etc)

6 speed Manual .. I don't want to spend a lot on upgrades.. but would love to see a big cloud of smoke... Thanks for all the help.. Would the smarty be a good item to pick up?

 

Not without a new clutch. In fact I would probably recommend the Edge due to not wanting to spend alot of money, that way you get guages (very important) and yet trying to keep your stock clutch in this world for awhile. And yet still allow further upgrades later when money is there

The SMARTY is nice. Like Kevin mentioned if the clutch is on the way out the SMARTY will make it slip. My clutch is holding up fine running on level 5 (so far).
Personally I would add gauges first before doing any performance mods.

The Diablo programmer or the Bully Dog programmer would be my choice. I have a BD Power Pup on my 2003 and that by itself performs pretty good. Nice power & smoke . I have my Power Pup stacked with the Dr. Performance stage 1 module & it makes a pretty good combination.

But as stated in the previous posts.....You will need gauges....
At minimum an EGT (pyrometer) gauge. Things can get hot pretty fast once you start bombing....
