right now i have a autometer phantom gauge and its had better days. 1 second its fine crusin at 500* and then its pegged out then its at 800* then back to 500* it jumps all over the place. the set up is only about 2-3 years old. should i just get another 1 or change out completely. i was looking at the pricol gauges and its going to cost over $300 with the wiring harnes they say you need and all that and the phantom is like $60 and thats everything. all the auto meter gauge has is power ground and the 2 wires from the probe and the pricol looks like i have to try and wire a 57 chevy what gives and whats the better choice? also the pricol gauge doesnt even say it comes with a probe im confused maybe im just looking at it all wrong. the other they say to install a dimmer and all that but i could really care less the only time i used the dimmer in the truck was when i first rolled it off the lot maxed it out and havent touch it sense so i dont think i need that option.

Unless you got a bunch of money burning a hole in your pocket, or don't like the gauges you have now...

Repair the one you have.

Even try calling Autometer to see if they can warranty or recalibrate it for you.

I'd start with the thermocouple first.
