My truck with and without muffler

Evening, DTR.

I'm getting ready to tow my wife's truck cross country, so I decided to put the muffler back on.

I have a silverline 4" turbo back, and I got it with the muff, but it was too quiet, so I ordered the delete pipe.

Here is the vid without:

And with:

Note that this is not a nice camera, but maybe you get the idea. With me standing next to it, I feel like with the muff on, it sounds close to when I'm around the truck with ear muffs on.
Whatever makes you feel good...

I don't know... Like I said, hearing it from the camera and in person is two different sounds.

Personally, I like it louder. Maybe if it was half of the muffler, I'd be ok with it.

This is the muff... It's straight through...

I drove it to take the kids to school today, it does still sound good, but I don't have to crank the radio up to hear it. The kids wanted to know what was wrong with daddy's truck...

I'm a straight pipe kind of guy!

If you tow across country then you may not be a Straight Pipe guy any longer!!!
Why not put the muffler on for the trip and then go back to SP when you get back???

Sound good either way. I have a Banks 4" Muffler on mine now, but the drone is too much. I might end up with stock muffler in the near future though.

That silverline muffler sounds great with that HTT turbo whistling thru it. The straight pipe would be too much towing on a long trip.

I'd hook up to a trailer and see what it sounds like. Driving around town with and without a trailer makes a HUGE sound difference.

too bad that muff looks like it only slips on one way, most of the straight through style muffs have louvers, one way you get full quieting power, the other end around is louder, in between muff and straight, see if ya can flip it with a coupling to try it . me? I love my 5 inch straight pipe :P

towed for just 5 hours on interstate w/ sp muffler has been on ever since. although I do love the sound of the sp just tends to rattle you out after a while
