My new Engineered Diesel 63/68/14

Wow is all I can say. I searched for months and called a lot of vendors before I picked this turbo and this vendor, and man am I happy I did. This is the perfect all around single for DD, towing, play and in my configuration put down a little over 600hp. Mine is a 63/68/14 T3, wanted to stay T3 for spool but realize this turbo can be set up to flow more with a T4 divided, and watch out for the cheap ones with the non divided T4 its gonna be a lot slower spool.
Now this thing rocks, it lights at 5psi and it is at 5 at 1500 rpm. It really spools comparable to stock, no real difference and I dont have to change my driving style at all. I would check this thing out if you are in the market .

Oh and I did a full write up and detailed install at Cummins Forum, I don't want to do it again so if I can figure out a way to paste it somehow and start the same thread over here I think it would help anyone putting an S300 based turbo on. I will try to move it over here tomorrow to share with my DTR brothers.

Yeah, you're going to like that turbo.

Is it a BW BB turbo? Water cooled?

No brother it is a worked over BW model. No BB, but Chris made it to spool like a 62 and flow close to a 64. I'm telling you it is insane, and it's not broken in yet .

Manifold is Htt stainless, exhaust housing is not stainless, Compressor is unpolished SS. Good times, if Diesel wasn't $4.25 I'd be out running her.

Looks good! Engineered Diesel supposedly has some wild stuff that works great! What other mods do you have that helped you lay down 600hp?

And, correct me if I'm wrong but, you might want to move your EGT probe to the back port. You want to be reading EGT's of the back 3 cylinders, not the front 3.

I did not lay down 600, that's the rated hp+ some. Heck I have stock sticks in this truck. As far as egt probe I put it their and in a few weeks i will move it back to compare and see what the difference is. Which ever logs higher egts is the spot i will leave it. With stock stick egt's are the least of my concerns.

Oh and this manifold runs a little different, you can't see it in these pics but 5/6 are more separated where on the stocker 5/6 seem to more or less share the same passage.

Gotcha. Any issues or CEL's since the wastegate solenoid from the factory turbo no longer exists? What was the "fix" for that?

3 thing you can do, 1 pull the wastegate actuator off the stocker and wrap it up and hang it out of the way,2 put a resistor in line where the actuator would be , buy a manufactured jumper for $25 or so.

How is it compaired to your old truck with twins? I am only seeing 1 psi of boost at 1600 rpms (58 mph). With the cam, the turbo will light with a very slight touch of the throttle.

It's faster than my twins as far as spool, it lights hard at 5psi and like lightning at 10. I really think out of both sets of compounds and now this, this is the best set up for my truck. The first set of twins were BD tow so they were wicked fast and good DD, but you limited the air up top because the secondary was so small. This charger has more room up top. My bigger set 62/71/13 over 480 was awesome but unless you were breaking the speed limit/sound barrier the 80 never lit, and really didn't contribute much to DD. of course that set hit so hard your face would hurt. I really think this is the perfect DD turbo for the average guy. Now I have to hook a load to it and see what she will do before my final blessing.

Sounds to me like it'll get your blessing for the best all-around single turbo.

I wanted to clarify, I am dyslexic at times.
This IS a SS exhaust housing, and the compressor housing is not SS nor is it polished cause I'm not a big bling guy. But the compressor housing could be polished to shine if you wanted it too.

I just wanted you guys to know .
