My New Carli Suspension - Wheels/Offset?

I just got a Carli suspension system installed (starter package) and long travel air bags...now I am looking into tires/wheels.

The Carli site says I can install 35" tires as the truck is now lifted 3". So I called around and one place said they could do a 18" rim or a 20" rim. But the 20" rim has a +20 offset.

What would changing the offset do for the feel of the drive? I think the truck would look kinda cool as the wheels would stick out a bit more...but I was also told by the guy who installed the Carli system that the offset would put stress on the steering and that it isn't worth it.

Unless you get longer arms you may have rubbing on the back of the fender wells with 35's if you change the offset too much from stock...

I've got the Carli 2.5 Performance system. Also have Carli control arms. I'm running Toyo 35's on Ballastic Hostels. No rubbing whatsoever. I really think I could have fit 37's, so when the time comes for some new rubber, I may try to see if I can stuff some 37's in there. Sorry for the blurry pic.

I just installed the same kit and put on 20x9 Moto metal 956 on 35x12.5x20 toyo m/t's. It ends up being 5.71 backspacing no rub. Look sweet! Sorry no pics.

Interesting! I appreciate all the info so far.

So let's say I go with KMC HD Rockstar Chrome wheels, will I have to get new callipers and rotors because my rusty, stock nakedness would show?

I'm running H2 wheels with 35's. No rubbing at all. I'm running a KORE kit, stock control arms. The Carli kit is similar. Who installed your Carli kit?

HRT in Okotoks installed it (link below). Nice guy! Knows his suspension, and must know it well as he placed 2nd or 4th (?) in the Baja 1000 with his Dodge Ram Diesel...and it was only his second year of competing! There's a video clip of it playing on the front page of his website.
