My Di-Pricol Gauge Experience !

I am finally finished with the install. It was a very easy job overall especially with all the good info on this forum. I ended up with the following:

Pro Pod 93531 Triple Pod
Di-Pricol EGT, Boost, Trans Temp

Pro-Pod

With a little help from the guy at Pro Parts i found this new part number fits perfect. I know there was some talk about the gap some are getting on the 04s. I think this is in part people using the 03 part number (93526) and not the new 04 part number (93531). Pro-Parts said they manufactured the new part number with a extra 1/4" of material on the front side to eliminate the gap. Another thing he recommended with the new part number was to install the pod without the factory pillar underneath. I tried his advice and the pod is very strong by itself.

EGT

The EGT was the gauge i thought i would have the most trouble with since you have to tap the manifold. I placed the probe in the manifold on top and not in the collector, this was just a matter of convenience with the drill i had. I know the back three are the hottest cylinders but i used the front three instead. It was very easy to drill and tap. I used a big shop vac and took most of the filings away before the bit went through and then used grease for the final poke through. I did notice however the vacuum did not suck all the filings out. I used a screwdriver and magnet and scraped as much out until they were coming out clean. To be sure i plugged the exhuast and started it up for 20 secs. With this i was pretty sure all the filings were gone.

Boost

This was the easiest of all, i used a boost bolt which made the install very quick with no worries about metal filings.

Trans Temp

I ended up putting the sender in the transmission for now. I placed it in the governor test port which is the port on the right hand side farthest back pointing towrds the passenger door. You cannot just screw the sender into the port because the sender bottoms out inside the tranny and will just end up stripping the first few threads out. I used a 1/4 X 1/8 NPT reducer and a 1/8 X1/4 NPT bushing. It all went together seemlessly. However i don't know if the reeding is very good yet because i haven't driven very far with it, but on a 30 mile trip i am only seeing 100-110 F which seems a little low does it not ? I may do the Mag-Hytec pan or install the sender in the tranny line.

General Questions

I notice in the night the trans temp gauge is perfectly lit with the factory gauges but the Boost and EGT seem a little dimmer. Have others noticed this ? Does Di-Pricol make a smaller Boost Gauge ? I will post pictures in the gallery for people to check out. The Gauges look very sharp and have a factory look. I hope this helps people if they have any questions. Enjoy

Will the Boost bolt work on the 600? and how tough was the wiring? I'm not looking forward to that part.
