From: Well I thought I lived in America, but its looking more like france every day.
I been wanting to change the exhaust and I dont want to go as loud as straight piped. I have read that if you keep the cat in and delete the muffler it makes a good sound? anyone here have experiance with that? Also would it reduce EGT's by taking off the muffler. I know taking off the cat will reduce egt's some.
Oh by the way. When I first started looking at this site I swore that I was just going to keep my truck stock and I wasnt going to get sucked in to this 3rd gen high performance section. Ya that lasted about 6 months!!
IM SO WEAK

we all got sucked in and theres no way out. removing the muffler is a huge difference from stock i ran like that for a year and loved the sound, i found it to be alot louder. at 1 point i had to put the a muffler back on the truck for warrenty work and it was like is it running or am i just coasting. the nice thing with just the cat is it gives that true diesel exhaust sound and its not annoyingly loud and no droneing or raspy ness. we actually think it was louder than str8 pipe dmax and powerstroke. i think you will be very happy with it. if it is to much you can always put on a resonator or muffler to quite it down a bit
you can get them from most places that sell exhaust systems. i found if the factory crimps the pipe when they in stall the muffler you need to cut it off or if its old and rusty they dont like to come off so check it out first you might need to buy an extra piece of strait pipe. i usually buy a piece that is 12" or long just so you have enough and dont come up short and make sure one end is belled or 4"inside diameter so it slips right on and you dont need a cupling. another place not to cheep out is clamps spend the little extra money on a band clamps rather than a saddle clamp. saddle clamps can crimp the pipe to gether and dont seel as well. if u want to remove the set up you have to cut it all over again where a band clamp u can take off the clamp and slide it apart or in worst case put a strap wrench on and spin it to losen it up to slide it off. i learned the hard way so now if i want to change any thing i have to start at the turbo and redo it all

I have the Geno's kit and I like it when its on the truck! I do have a 6" stack but I only run the stack during the summer cause I have a Leer cap that I put on in the winter for fishing trips and hunting so i have to put the factory with the muffler delete back on!
It sounds great, get the one from Geno's and dont look back!!
