Mudflaps vs. Flares
D.Wiggs....No I really do mean form follows function. Meaning it must work well first before any aesthetic benefit is considered. In this case the Bushwackers look great but I don't know what the protection capabilities are compared to the mudflaps.
So if the bushwackers look great but don't keep the crud off my truck I won't be gettin' 'em. Whereas if the mudflaps don't look as great but do the job they will get my vote.
The actual order of the words in the phrase is reverse of what the phrase actually means....

Talk about a brain lapse!! You are 100% correct sir! Wow, I have no idea why I transposed the meaning of that phrase! Yikes! Bad D.Wiggs! Bad D.Wiggs!
I've got bushwacker flares and 14" wide Airhawk mudflaps. I travel on alot of gravel roads and they do a great job protecting my truck. I mounted the front ones quite low to the ground, as that's the only way to get any decent protection. I just tie them back with a removable set of small chains anytime I go offroad. Pics can be seen over on TDR http://www.turbodieselregister.com/u...&albumid=16406
I have the Bushwhacker flares and the factory molded mudflaps. I just took the fronts and put them on the back and the backs on the front. It was like they were made to fit. Looks mint.

Finally got some pictures up, you can see how bad it's pitted, and that was on stock tires
