Mudflaps

Has anyone installed the rear mudflaps with the red Ram head on the bottom half? Any pictures? How do they look?

Your sig says you already have mudflaps. Get something useful like a winch or something. Sorry couldn't resist

I have the ones from the Cummins site with the red Ram logo and the blue C side by side. Will take a picture tomorrow and put it in my gallery. The plastic is 3/16" and seems sturdy enough. Not sure how long the emblems will last though. They were around $34 for the pair.

Thanks Sailpipes! I have the molded ones mestdagh, but they take the paint off the side of your truck. I'm getting the front part where the mopar boards rubbed the paint off repainted, and I'm installing fender trims front and back. The trims will cover the bit that was rubbed off on the back, but I can't use the molded mudflaps over the rear trims, so.... I'm looking at some different mudflaps for the rear. Maybe stainless, maybe Ram logo, etc......

Turbo, I just put the molded mopar flaps on my truck. You say they wear off the paint? Dang. What are you doing for flaps on the front?

Mud Flaps

Well I have the Husky molded flaps. They come with 3M clear tape to keep them from rubbing paint off. I added my own logo. I have a new set of the Cummins flaps that can be used with the fender trim if you are interested.

Mestdagh- my brother has the Mopar aluminum boards on the front with the molded mud guards that come with it. On the front of these we both have Dodge mudflaps that hang down a bit and give extra protection. His plastic molded guards sit about a 1/4 inch away from his paint because he already had the chrome fender trims put on. So- his paint did not rub off(unlike mine). So, after I have the lower section painted and blended, I'm having the trims put on. The front looks good like that way with the running boards. But, it wouldn't look right on the back. I looked at some heavy black Putco flaps for the rear today. They have a strip of stainless along the bottom about 4 inches wide. They looked really good so I think I might go with them. (I really liked the looks of the molded Dodge ones, but PMO I don't like wearing paint off my truck! Plastic sitting against the truck body will do that. )

I want to try and find some mud flaps that will provide good coverage and not look stupid with my Bushwacker Pocket Flares. If anyone see's a pic or knows of something that will look good I'd like to know.

Thanks in advance

Hondo

Ramwheeels- I like the look of those flaps. They look exactly like the ones I have on there now, except I don't have the colored logo. I'm also a great believer in 3-m tape, and have used it in certain places, including the clear guards on my fog lights. BUT- the way my flaps wore right down through the paint and even to shiny metal in one spot, I am not sure I would even take a chance with or without the tape.

I got picks in my gallery on what I did for Mudflaps. All custom work I did myself.

The Putco ones I looked at don't need brackets. Instead of a full rectangle flap, they are cut to the curve of the fender. I think that should be ok, because we have the rear fender "tubs" behind the back wheel to catch stuff going toward the back bumper. They will just mount with 3 or four screws.

All right. Pending their approval, the pics are now in my gallery. As you'll see, they're just wide enough for the stock tires so if you have wider ones, they won't quite cut it.

Action Accessories in Portland OR makes Mudflaps special for the Bushwacker Fender Flares. They come with or without the chrome dodge head on them. The fronts are 12' and the rear are15". Easy install and they protude about 2" past the Flares.

They look a lot like the ones I had Oops. I'd try and get something between them and the side of your truck. Even if they hide the paint they take off underneath them, I'd be concerned about it(unless you're only keeping the truck 2 or 3 years).
