More Guage ???? Install... Thanks Fellas!

I am hooking up my guages tonight and tomorrow.. Got Autometer's Boost 0-60, Pyro, Tranny, Fuel Pressure and rear diff.. Couple questions... Obviously white is 12v source and black is ground. But the Fuel pressure kit, electronic one came with a red and black wire in the harness.. Is the red 12v and black ground? And for power source I am following Dieselmanor's instructions but can some one tell me the difference in these two discriptions?? One says Illumination wire and the other one is switched ignition source? What is the diff??? Obviously switched ignition is for when trucks turns on and Illumination is for lights?? But do you need to tap into them both?? And how? A detailed write up needs to be done on this and I might do it I just want my ducks in a row to make it easier.. I have the boost bold and mag-hytec tranny pan for the tap's there (tranny and rear diff)!!!! Thanks guys..

Shane

for power you want switched 12v (meaning power with "key on") I think it's pink with yellow tracer on the 06's under the steering wheel.
for lighting the gauge you need dimmer switch 12v pull the dimmer switch and find the wire with a test light....once you pierce the wire (with your headlights on) watch your test light to see when it lights up when it does roll the dimmer switch to make sure the test light dims also.
so yes they both need to be hooked up to get them to work.
clear as mud??

It's kind of funny Shane. You can build just about anything for your truck from scratch and make it look good, but when it comes to wiring your . J/K!
