Modding my canister.. EXPERTS HELP
The grey vent on the retrofit canister doesn't hook to anything. Its just like it is in the pic. I really think I am just going to run two seperate GDP drawstraws. One for AD feed and one for AD return... Then Im just going run the factory return just that pic is displaying with that black rubber hose... I think thats gonig to be the best bet..
My oversight.
53Willys (Mark) is correct that the stock fuel cannister output fitting & line is inadequate for the bigger fuel pumps.
I am comparing the 1st picture in this thread (modded retro-fit in tank pump 03-04 cannister) to the 2nd pic in this thread
(stock retro-fit in tank pump cannister) to the original pump-less cannister in the link I posted above.
The inlet & outlet of the modded cannister have been ground off for a draw straw & it appears that the capped line is now the return line for external pump.
Where is that pic from Blownsmoke?
Now you have me overthinking this....
Summarizing my recommendations with the in-tank 03-04 cannister:
1. Do the tank vent mod as per Diesel-max (Dave Kelley)
2. Modify the cannister with 2 drawstraws as Mark did with his 05& up cannister.
3. Cap off that grey vent. Install hoses & cheapo fuel filters to the 2 original & exposed vent fittings on the top of the tank.
4. Test and then drink several beers.
