Angry Misplaced my data link plug

I think I can make one but I am not sure if this plug is just a loop back plug or what?

And of course I am needing to take it to the dealer, pulled everything off and the plug is not in my console where I usually keep it, grew legs and walked off I guess?

You need the bypass plug. I'd call Quad right now and see if he can one in the mail today.

I thought its just a cap? To keep crud outta the connector?

I had to plug mine back in yesterday after pulling my Edge out, I keep it in a baggy in the glove box(with other misc bolts from other parts of the truck)

You're talking about the plug a loop or two of wire on it, right? That's the bypass plug. You use that when you need to remove the module, but want to leave the wire harness in place. It plugs into the harness at the same connector the module does and allows the truck to run with harness installed and the module removed.

Mine is just a connector dummy plug, no wires, nothing, just a weathertight dummy plug.(Located down around the filter canister)

Maybe its different on '06s...

I'm sure it would be a pain, but shouldnt you take out the harness if your taking it intot he dealer anyway. I mean if you leave it on the truck then they will start to question about mods right?

I didn't when I had my AC fixed. I left everything on just pulled the module itself off. No questions asked. In fact, a couple guys came over to check out the Commander.

are you talking the datalink connector next to the engine ecm or the quad module bypass plug?
the datalink plug is just a dirt plug.
the bypass is a loop through type.

you are correct it's just a dust cover/boot.

I am sure happy, i was worried and in a panic!

I looked at the one of the trucks here at work which is an 07 and it doesn't have the plug.
