Mickey Thompson MTZ

I found a deal on these in 12.50x33x17 for about $650.00 mounted and balanced. They are factory blims but I have not been able to see anything wrong with them. Only thing is they are D rated instead of E rated. Should I let that worry me? What kind of milage are you getting out of them for those running them? I am getting them installed at 10:30 in the morning. They are giving me $100.00 for my factory BFG's with 40,000 miles on them. Does it sound like I am getting a fair deal? Also thinking about a leveling kit but haven't seen a truck with this size tire leveled so I am not sure if the tire will look too small with it leveled. What do you guys think?

Since you said they were factory blems, make sure they are not out of round or the weighted such that they won't balance. Otherwise, sounds like a good deal.

Yup, if the tires are indeed fine that is a pretty good deal. I paid $950 mounted and balanced for a set of 315/70R17 MTZs a month ago. So far I have about 1,000 miles on them with two highway trips and I like them a lot. They aren't too loud, but do have that mud-tire "warble". So far I can't really comment on wear except that they still look pretty much new

Oh, and they look !

I have ran D rated for 47k and tow heavy, have a slide in camper, etc. I got 40k out of my mud terrains (could have stretched another 8-10k out of them, but I like to haveplenty of traction for the things I do). you will be fine. I am now running d rated coopers and they have been awesome, quiet (for the aggressive tread) and are incredible in mud, snow, sand, etc.

the blem issuse is probably nothing but a crooked lettering or something. I buy blem snowboards, wakeboards all the time and they have something so simple wrong with them. nothing more than a graphic wrong, mispell, etc.

~Cheers

Thanks guys. I feel better about them now. They will be on in about 4 hours now. Maybe I can put a picture up in the next few days.

You'll like them. I can't for it to snow around here (if it ever gets below freezing!) to try them out.

This is a bad picture of the MTZs on my truck, FWIW....

I just put a set of blems on a buddys 06 33x12.50x17s. I dont think they ride QUITE as good as my buckshots but it is close and the rubber compound is softer. They look great and I think my next set will be 35 mtz.

If it makes you feel any better we paid 700 mounted and balanced + shippin.

Got them mounted today and so far the only problem is I wish I had went with the 315. They ride great but they still look a little small. Oh well, they do look good. I will run them a while and see how they work then if I decide I will pull them off while they still have lots of rubber and sell them for some 315's.

I got mine from a offroad center that happens to be owned by the Dodge dealer where I bought my truck.
